View Full Version : I predict Lakers win the title

Jimmer55
02-24-2013, 09:49 AM
95 Rockets come to mind as a low seed to win the title. Reasons why...

1. They are starting to gel

2. Howard and Nash are healthier

3. Earl Clark is a legitimate player

4. Pau will be rested for the playoffs

And most importantly...

5. Kobe is the ultimate winner and he will do whatever it takes to make the playoffs and punish teams and haters that laughed at LA all season long. Kobe Bryant with another title as lead dog will help him crack top 5 all time and legacy is important to him. I don't care about Kobe's numbers, he will do what it takes to win. 6-24 game 7 against Boston...BUT...10 points down the stretch, 14 rebounds, and great defense. Kobe Bryant, folks...never say never.

The season started 2 games ago and they are 2-0 since then. They will smash the Mavs today and that is a GUARANTEE.

Oh really? You know they've lost to awful teams before? Don't forget Dirk, and Carter who's been rolling lately.

While I do think they will make the playoffs, they aren't getting out of the first round, no way they're beating the Spurs or Thunder in a 7 game series, heck I would be surprised if they took the first round series to 6 games...the Lakers better hope they make the playoffs and are competitive in the first round or else Mike D'Antoni will be fired and Dwight Howard will leave via free agency

02-24-2013, 12:05 PM
I'd like to see Nash win before he calls it quits. If the Bulls can't win a ring I'm rooting for Nash or Duncan to win. Two guys who played the game the right way.

Greedy22
02-24-2013, 12:08 PM
Won't happen. D'Antoni is horrible, doesn't know how to properly use Gasol and Howard, they're old and slow, terrible defensively, don't consistently play hard, and are horrible on the road.

02-24-2013, 12:12 PM
they should probably make the playoffs first..

actually they probably dont have too. im sure Stern would grant them a 9th seed if need be

02-24-2013, 12:15 PM
I agree actually. For a lot of those same reasons. But most importantly because of their size advantage. The playoffs are all about size. Whether they play the Thunder, the Clippers, the Spurs or the Heat, they should have a significant advantage between Howard starting and Pau coming off the bench.

I just wish that they would've moved Duhon and World Peace for Bargnani. I think he'd be a great fit next to a healthy(ish) Howard.

Raptors have a much easier schedule, Bucks are falling, Sixers aren't on the upswing without Bynum, and the East is crap. Lakers have huge talent, but let's face it, the West is ultra tough compared to the East. They barely beat Portland yesterday.

By looking at his username, I don't think he roots for the Lakers. I assume he is a Kings fan since Jimmer Fredette plays for the Sacramento Kings, and his username is Jimmer85.

I don't know, just a hunch. So your assumption that he is a Laker fan is inaccurate and a huge fail.

Jimmer isn't a completely uncommon nick name. Also I doubt a Kings fan would give Kobe the sort of praise that he gave him, let alone start a whole thread about how the Lakers are going to win the title.

barreleffact
02-24-2013, 02:48 PM
LA has to make the playoffs first. Being 4 games behind this late in the west is not a good place to be in. If they can make the playoffs, I like their chances against anyone. The big problem is, how do they incorporate Gasol back and how will he affect the on court chemistry they have established recently.
