Maybe Lebron pulled him aside and told him not to go to Miami since he might return to the Cavs in 2 years.
Unlikely but would be an interesting side story.

Article say Oden "may sign" not "Will Sign" big difference. That said its a good pick up if it happens for the cavs.

Good move by the Cavs. If he can somehow get healthy, him and Kyrie would be an amazing tandem

If he can even do 10 ppg and 6 rebounds he is a great pick up. Imagine if he did brook lopez numbers.

Gilbert:

Let's have the one of the most injury prone guys in the history of basketball back up one of the most injury prone guys in the last couple of seasons.

My prediction next year - Varejao gets hurt game 7. Oden gets hurt game 8. Back to Thompson/Zeller. Might as well sign Bowie at this point

That only happens to guys that play in Portland, he'll be fine he's going to Cleveland

They said the same about Brandon Roy.

Boom. But in all seriousness, Portland's luck has been awful. Something in the water. If anything happened to Lillard I'd probably cry.

The Cavs could potentially have 3, #1 Overall guys by 2014/15 if Oden does pan out: Kyrie, Oden, and LeBron, lol.

how many games before he's out for the season?????

As good as Lillard is, do you guys think he's going to be as good as Paul, WB, or Rose? A lot of why he's playing miles above everyone is because of his age and college experience. I think he'll be a top 5 PG but do you think he's better than Curry atm?

Lillard is already my favorite player but I've accepted the fact that he will never be as good as CP3 or Rose. He doesn't have the physcial tools of Westbrook, but if we're talking about value to a team, I'd take Lillard. (Better shooter and higher IQ, more willing passer) But in all seriousness, Lillard is 22, and Kyrie is 20.

Its not always the best talents that become the biggest winners.

If he stays healthy him and Irving could be a great 1-2 combo for the Cavs for the next decade.

I would love for this report to be true, but it doesn't say he's signing with us. The article mentions that he possibly could, however, it does not make it seem like this is an imminent move. I think the Cavs have a legit chance at landing him but I'm not going to assume it's a done deal based off this report.

First of all it says "He may sign" and second the heat cleared a roster spot by getting rid of Pittman contract and got cash back. So you see, the heat are still bidding and Riley always gets his man!

I don't trust his knees so I'm not sure if this helps or hurts the team moving forward.

If Pittman is gone, then who'll do this?

Absolutely, hate to see any player go through this, especially one with his type of talent.

If the Kings ever make the playoffs and the Cavs finally get the 1st round pick owed to them it will be a miracle.

Why does he want to playin Cleveland?

RollingWave

Wish him the best, but the odds of someone being hurt for so long comming back to any sort of usefulness seems rather bad.

I think we'll just have to wait and see what the Cavs offered him. Oden is just in it for the money... Can't see him making a huge impact.

While I agree the odds are against him ever living up to his potential and draft selection as #1 overall, I think there's a good chance he can play limited minutes and be effective off the bench, granted he's fully healthy now. The Cavaliers have the luxury of being in a no pressure situation right now with one of the best, if not THE BEST, health care systems in the world in the Cleveland Clinic. We saw this before in Cleveland with Zydrunas Ilgauskas, who suffered foot injury after foot injury, and it never seemed like he would ever be able to play consistently. Well he did, and had a long successful career including a couple All Star appearances. Also see Grant Hill.
