MANILA, Philippines Ė Petron Blaze banked on a big third quarter to blast Barangay Ginebra San Miguel 105-90 Sunday in the PBA Commissionerís Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Renaldo Balkman scored half of his game-high 34 points in the pivotal third quarter, where the Boosters outscored the struggling Kings 35-19.

ďThe team talked about consistency to come out with a lot of energy and intensity in the game and it showed today,Ē said Petron head coach Olsen Racela.

ďItís still a long way. Itís a process, weíre getting there. Weíre gaining confidence with the way weíre playing but itís still a process,Ē added Racela on whether his teamís problems are behind.

Petron Blaze improved to 2-1 while also dealing Ginebra, which will bring in a new import Vernon Macklin to replace Herbert Hill, its third loss in as many games.

June Mar Fajardo had 18 points and seven rebounds for the Boosters while Mark Caguioa paced Ginebra with 24 points on 10-of-17 shooting from the field.

Beast mode.

Yeah, I still remember the crowd booing when NY took him so early. What came of it? Zilch.

Silly dilly

yeah... "Ex-NBA Player" might have been a better tag.

It was always clear he was limitted offensively but I really thought he'd be able to hang on as a defensive specialist.
