Los Angeles Lakers owner Jerry Buss is dying of cancer and is currently surrounded by family and friends at his hospital bedside, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting.

The businessman and billionaire is at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles and a source close to the situation tells RadarOnline.com that Lakers players have been calling with well-wishes and even stopping by to see him in what they expect to be his final days.

“Jerry isn’t doing well and it’s quite sad, but he’s surrounded by loved ones,” the insider told RadarOnline.com.

“The cancer is just too much and it looks like this is the end for him.”

Jerry purchased the Lakers in 1979 and he’s seen great success in the franchise, winning 10 NBA championships.

Riddled with health problems for the last few years, Jerry was hospitalized in 2011 with a blood clot and then had surgery in August 2012 for an undisclosed reason and was expected to make a full recovery.

Turning 79 just weeks ago on January 27, Jerry has not attended a Lakers game during the 2012-2013 season because of health concerns.

Very Sad. He's been a great owner.

Idk if this report is true nobody else has reported it, but if it is true it's just another list of sad things happening to the lakers lately but this one would be the hardest hit, it's like the raiders losing al Davis a year ago he was the Heart and soul of the raiders! Lakers hope this is false rumor! May he be well and get through this!
Dark days are ahead of us lakersnation let's just hope Jim buss is smart enough to manage the organization correctly. Jerry buss always will be the greatest owner in sports!

From the report posted by the OP, it doesn't look like he can recover from it. I don't want to sound harsh but they say he is going to die soon.

Sad sad news.

The sign of a great owner is how spoiled the fans of his team are...and Lakers fans got it the best, whether they're aware of it now or not.

Best of wishes to him and his family...and his Lakers family.

I guess his absence explains why the Lakers front office has been running wild with stupidity lately. He ain't there to put his foot down.

The greatest owner in NBA history and quite possibly the greatest owner in all of American sports. The guy just simply brought greatness to his team and as a result won.

It is becoming a ridiculous thing now. It just seems like it's so much more common these days, and it's only getting worse. Nothing would make me happier than a cure for this **** that people have to go through
