Lexington, KY (Sports Network) - Kentucky forward Nerlens Noel will have an MRI exam Wednesday for his injured left knee, but x-rays taken Tuesday night were negative.
Noel was hurt during the second half of Tuesday's game at Florida and had x- rays at a Gainesville hospital. The school said Wednesday morning there were no fractures and he flew back to Lexington with the team.
The freshman standout was hurt with just over eight minutes remaining in the 69-52 loss when he landed awkwardly after chasing down Florida's Mike Rosario and blocking a shot from behind. He remained on the floor for several minutes before being helped off the court by teammates.
Noel entered Tuesday's game leading the nation in blocked shots with 4.5 per contest while averaging 10.6 points, 9.6 rebounds and 4.5 assists in 23 games. He had eight points, six boards and three blocks before departing Tuesday.

In an already weak draft, looks like one of the top prospect is gone.

He would have been the overall pick to so I guess now its Shabazz or McLemore.

he wasnt a lock for 1 and the fact that he was even considered shows how bad this class is.

He was not a lock... Even healthy I wouldn't take him, Most of you that truly watches NCAAB would know that he is VERY overrated. He cannot score, I see a DeAndre Jordan type in him. I don't know why people act like he's some type of franchise player.

Marcus Smart will be the best player in this draft

People see him as a franchise player because he is only a freshman and his number are ridiculous. He has time to improve every where. I agree he's a little overrated, but he's a stud

I didn't say he was going to be the GOAT or something. He's a shot blocking force and good rebounder and has potential be a great defensive big which is more valuable than SGs and SFs in a weak draft.Hes basically Anthony Davis without the offense and was on pace to have more blocks than Davis this season. He wasn't a lock but I think he would have been the #1pick this year.

I thought this year would be all about team need, so he wasn't a lock at #1. There is no lock.

Nerlens will still be a top 3 pick. I don't think anything has changed with the injury other than some extra care paid to his rehab.

McLemore was touted as #1 by some even before Noel went down. So I think he will probably be the consensus number 1 now.

If it was upto me, Shabazz would be my choice.

there is no consesus #1 either way. none of these guys are top 10 picks in a decent class for the most part.

Maclemore is already the top draft prospect in most mocks, but Shabazz started the year there, then it was Zeller and I honestly don't ever remember Noel topping a mock. This draft essentially has a top 4-5 like '09 (Griffin, Rubio, Harden, Evans... Thabeet).

Since when was Noel the #1 prospect? I had him as the 3rd behind McLemore and Shabazz.

If I'm a team with a top 5 pick... Go ahead and take him. Say Noel misses a good portion of his first NBA year, heck even the entire year, the team who picks him will suck again and get another top pick.

So when Noel comes back (and he's a beast, lets not forget that), and you got another top pick, that's a great starting point in two years time.

In this very week class, I would go Victor Oladipo(spelling). He has a lot of upside and he is young. I would go off pure upside in a draft like this and you already know Victor can guard. His offense is much better and his work ethic is through the roof. He would atleast be a Shane Battie type if his offense never came around. I don't know if anyone in this class is going to be much better than that anyways. Just my little homer pick but honestly I think I would do it.

No clear cut number 1. First pick will most likely be based off whatever the team needs most.

My favorite player is Marcus Smart, ****ing love the man lol.

Kyrie Irving only played like 10 games in college and was drafted first. just saying.

Way different injuries, not even worth comparing dude.

I think this saves a team from realizing he's going to be a bust. He's more Hasheem Tahbeet than Anthony Davis

most mock drafts are sayin maclemore is the top draft pic...they are comparing him to ray allen....and smart is compared to harden...muhummed and bennet are in the mix too...its gonna be interesting to see whos going to be number 1 in the next few months......i would compare this draft to 09.....
