"I remember one of my teammates -- might have been Mike James -- said

And I remember sitting there while he was talking and I was thinking to myself

Does it really matter what they were talking about? Fact is Chris Paul probably had a conversation with Mike James during the 07-08 season and he vaguely remembers it to this day! The mystery of how a 6 foot basketball player with less than elite athleticism can be so great has been solved!!

How is this a joke? Chis Paul is basically talking about what gave him his killer instinct. It was pretty much Mike James.

The article is actually a good read about how hard CP3 thinks it is to win a Championship.

Not only is MJ perhaps the best individual player the NBA has ever seen, but him just TALKING to another player turns them into an MVP candidate. Amazing!

Mike James didn't convince anything to CP3 at that time. If you quoted the whole part, you would realize.

Then again, it is Mike James. Nothing better to do than praise him because it's apparently a cool trend.

lmao no way.

I knew something was missing as to how he became so good. I don't think anyone thought he'd be as good as he was but it makes sense that he once talked to MJ.

u dummies on here think that a player has to actually be good to really get ball. you can have the brain but not the physical...mike james was someone who had to learn how to stay in the nba which mean he had to learn to play the right way , how to think , how to prepare . how to be a veteran and how to always be ready...guys like him become coaches. guys like mike james who had to fight to stay in the nba had to learn how to play by learning how to become a professipnal and most of these guys go on and becomes coaches. i can see mike james helping a brand new cp3 who prob didnt understand the hardships of the game some of the intangibles that are needed . cp3 dont wanna admit it, its fine, but i can see it happening it happens all the time.Kobe/derek fisher

^ Completely agree and why I posted the article. I thought it was very funny that Mike James is the wryly veteran that CP3 remembers showing him the ropes!
