Humphries haf his hand/arm on kobe whilst the dunk went down, it was at least half a poster dunk, but it was a huge play that gave LA the momentum to win, it fired up everyone on lakers and they dominated the rest of the game, a solid win without dwight and metta and losing pau

The momentum of the dunk was huge having just lost Pau. It stopped the team from zoning out like when Dwight got hurt vs the Suns. Heads that were down shot up and were back in it, adrenaline started back pumping

That said Kobe put Chris Paul and Brandon Knight both on two posters I'd rank above it for actual dunk. The statement though of this dunk was like 61 in the Garden, I'm still here mf's after Bynum got hurt. I honestly believe that's why he went with the hammer sprained elbow and all

Look.. I was at the game and am from Brooklyn and while I love the Knicks I want to love the Nets cause they rep BKLN .. Point is... I am not a huge Kobe fan.

The dunk was amazing not only because of the dunk itself... But the timing of it within the game.
No howard, no Artest, No Pau, tight sloppy game through out and at that point Kobe had 17 points and 8 rebounds and wasn't shooting much .

There was 2-3 minutes left and kobe was at the three point line and exploded for that dunk ... then the a few plays later he drove for a lay up .

Wasn't the most athletic dunk but it showed why Kobe is the closest thing to that bastard Jordan as far as wanting to win and being cold blooded .

Those were both solid but they came over/ around smaller point guards. CP3 and B Knight.

Dunking through Wallace and Humprhies (both taller dudes than Kob) was much more impressive esp since he took off from damm near the dotted line.

Kobe's dunk was nice but tell me the difference between this 'poster' dunk:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rE1TBivEjzc

And these:

Amar'e poster: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0zgOKlFFF_Y

Wade poster: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wTmpAOJ4XcQ

And so it doesn't look like I'm being a homer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OVo-1_GI5Qc

Answer is, the REAL poster dunks involve players in front of the dunker, contesting, and getting dunked on anyway.
Not when a player dunks with two guys next to him.
If Kobe was a 'poster' dunk, then the others were 'Billboard dunks'. There's no comparison.

For your 'hater' comment, I don't care who is dunking. Go back to any 'poster' dunk thread and if it doesn't entail what I said above, you will find me ripping them too.

It was def a nice dunk. Just not a poster IMO. If either of those guys were in front or something then it'd be a different story. And this has nothing to do with it being Kobe. I didn't get chills with his. I hate Wade but I got the 'holy ****' chills watching his. And naturally being a Suns fan, Amar'es as well.

The thing with Kobe's dunk is he didn't dunk on anyone. Gerald Wallace and Humphries weren't even close to contesting. It's like Blake Griffin's dunk over the car... The car is just there but the dunk would've been a regular dunk nonetheless. Wade dunked and dropped Varejao, a center who weighs nearly 260 pounds. He didn't just dunk on him, he literally dropped him..

Kris was not exactly in front of him but they were not behind either. I could see why one would think you have to climb the defender to be consider a poster but thats a poster like it or not.
