What do you guys think about this? i think replacing the skills competition which not many people watch (or at least is the least hyped of the all star weekend festivities) with a one on one tournament? The guards can play the guards, forwards against forwards, and then the winner of each of those can play each other. Thoughts?

I think it would be cool.

Guards vs guards and forwards vs forwards

Final: Kobe vs Durant

Why do people say it's Kobe? Kobe isn't beating LeBron or Carmelo. They are too strong for him. If Dwight can't stop LeBron from driving to the paint, what makes you think Kobe can? Stop the foolishness.

If its guard vs guards kobe wouldn't play lebron until the finals. It probably end up with kobe vs lebron as the final though.

No. A legend should draft and coach the all star game tho.

Thabeet vs. Isaiah Thomas is the only match up I'd watch

It will never happen. Too much pride and too risky for injuries.

Each and every year same thread. Not happening, even if it would be cool.

I like the idea of 3vs3 or 2vs2 half court better. Where the players are put into a lottery and radomized or are drafted by legends

That is more likely. Anyone waiting on a 1 on 1 tournament... don't hold your breath.

Great Idea, but it would never happen.
Lebron doesn't want to be seen losing to Kobe, KD or Melo.

Losing a game like that one on one could seriously impact you financially if GMs or endorsers see you as less talented than someone else.

id prefer 2v2 or 3v3. too much of a an injury risk for most players and guys who are in the AS game wouldnt do it.

Never going to happen.

A few years ago I did a 64 player tourney (march madness style) of 1 on 1 polls here on PSD. Some of you may remember...That was fun. Lot of great matchups/debates.

It would be a very fun, entertaining event. Reality is, we will never see it.

They can't even get Lebron to do the Dunk contest... for charity.

Yah, 1v1 is never going to happen at the ASG. Too much downside if you get posterized...

its apparently an epic party weekend for the players and the stars only want to play in the allstar game so they can maximize the partying. still a 1 on 1 would make the weekend much better.
