View Full Version : Is it wrong to be happy that Rondo was injured?

I hate the preponderance of Lakers threads as much as the next guy so I created this one. And I loathe to ever create a hate or bait thread, but I just can't help but feel vindicated, satisfied, and just downright giddy that the Celtics will struggle. I've never ever had a vendetta against any non-rival team so this is strange for me. But the Lakers aren't playing well and I need something to root for (or against) and this has sustained me.

Is this wrong? (Nothing personal Celtics fans)

Yes, you are a bad person if you are happy that someone is injured. It's completely different than being happy a fan base of mostly cocky know nothing fans are finally seeing what it's like to have a bad team with no future.

To be happy that he himself is hurt: no.

To be happy because it helps your team: I guess...at least that's understandable.

But either way, don't gloat about it.

Being happy that a person has an injury that impacts their career and well being? Yeah that's wrong.

What someone made a thread about how happy they're if you got hurt?

I hope the op tears his ACL one day. You should never be happy when someone else gets injured. You have no idea what Rondo is going to have to go through now.

I hate Rondo, but how can you be happy he hurt himself like that?

Not cool dude

I think it is not very nice to be happy that a guy got hurt. I mean, if you don't like the Celtics, or hate them, I can see how you might b happy, because this team is SO fawked now that Rondo is out, but being happy that he is hurt? That's not cool.

That said, it is perfectly ok to be happy that the Lakers are playing so poorly, because they are playing poorly even when all their guys are healthy.

Be happy that the C's aren't doing well, not that Rondo got injured.

when you get hit by a car, let's make a thread about how happy we are you won't be posting nonsense like this. Happy that someone tore their ACL? that's crappy. I could understand if it was a broken pinkie, dislocation, spasms or something.
but that injury can change your whole career.

I'm Laker fan and I hate the Celtics, but I would never be happy that someone is hurt. Much less has a torn ACL. That's effed up

Hey, this looks familiar.

And yes, you are a scumbag of the lowest degree for reveling in the injury of another. You're giving Lakers fans an even worse name.

It's a little creepy and odd that you get satisfaction from someone getting hurt. Your clearly weren't raised very well, your parents are probably ashamed.

20-13 without rondo last 4 yrs and they have much better depth this yr. they might pull together and play inspired

Not really sure now which is creepier, the OP being happy Rondo sustained a serious injury obviously needs some psychiatric help fast, but this post, in this thread ... I don't know, might be even worse.

The OP and anybody else with the same thoughts at the OP can go eat a dick.

I don't care how much you hate a player, you don't laugh when they seriously injure themselves. That's below pathetic

A lot of people dont like rondo, but he is fun to watch. Seeing one of the best point guards in the league go down with an injury like this sucks. So yes it is wrong if your happy he went down.
