Who do you think is the most disappointing rookie so far? I'm going to have to go with Thomas Robinson, averaging 4.7 points per game and 4.4 rebounds.

Robinson.

Kendall Marshall by mile. Only has 52 minutes of playing time this season and even in the D-league he was just average at best.

Austin Rivers hands down. Can't blame TRob for the situation he is in. I know Rivers was the 10th pick but he has been flat out terrible.

Rivers had low expectations coming at out college. T-Rob was expected to be the 2nd overall pick and has played terrible thus far.

Austin Rivers is posting NBA worst type numbers has to be him, T-Rob has picked up his play majorly in the last 10 games.. Keith Smart was giving him like 5 minutes a game in the first 20

To make my case. T-Rob hasn't gotten a chance. Everybody expected Rivers to be bad and everybody knows he just got picked that high because of his last name. Marshall was expected, by some, to be the next Steve Nash(playmaking wise).

Majorly? That's horse ****. His past ten games:

Previous 10 Games Min 15.0 FG% .522 RB5.5 AST 0.8 BLK 0.5 STL 0.4 FL 1.7 PTS 5.1

He averages 4.7 points, 4.4 boards... The extra point and rebound definitely make things better though, huh.

I was sure coming in to say Royce White. Guy hasnt even played a damn game. I knew Marshall was gonna be Booty. Didnt expect anything good from Rivers. T Rob has been disappointing but least hes playing. He is just behind Cousins, Thompson, and Hayes. Kings need to trade Thompson so t Rob can get more PT.

I'll tell you what despite the fact that he has been producing good #s, Waiters. Injurys have been a huge factor this season already. If he doesn't get healthy and get into shape, he is going to be an injury bug player for the rest of his career.

Rivers a close close 2nd. T Rob simply hasn't had a fair chance. I believe he could be decent if he is played more

Sly Guy
01-19-2013, 11:46 AM
why rivers:
he's historically bad this year.
why not robinson :
he's not getting PT to warrant judgement on his abilities on-court
why not White :
being a prima donna doesn't make you a bad player, just makes you look foolish. Sure, he hasn't played any time, but Rivers is getting time and the only thing he's earned is more time on the bench.

Those number translate pretty well to 36 minutes. Double-Double with playing time.

With limited playing time and a cancerous team those are good number.

Is it just coincidence that immensely talented guys like DMC, Tyreke, Jimmer and T-Rob are struggling in Sac?

I will go with Trob because I thought he had a legit chance at ROY. He was supposed to be "NBA Ready" but even when he plays he hasn't been that good. I still like his potential though.

I knew Rivers would suck, but not this bad.

Austin Rivers and Kandall Marshall

Corey
01-19-2013, 12:11 PM
Rivers has been the worst, but Robinson is the most disappointing IMO.

A whole lot of people expected Rivers to suck early on. Most recognized that he wasn't ready to go pro, and I think the expectations for him were more long-term.

Robinson was supposed to come in and make a big impact early on, but he hasn't adapted well. He's averaging 10/10 per36, but he's scoring at a very low rate, and he's not nearly as explosive as a lot of people were expecting.

Both will get better in time.

I take it you've never seen Doc Rivers play, then.

Doc was a heck of a player, especially defensively. He played a COMPLETELY different style than Austin.

:laugh2: injuries a huge factor ... he's played in 33 of 41 games and it was 1 sprained ankle that caused him to miss these games . Back to the topic it was between Beal,Robinson & Rivers ,but Beal has picked up his play and considering Rivers is having one of the worst season of all time im going with him.

I would say T-Rob as most disappointing. If we're talking about the worst, yeah it's Rivers hands down. Robinson was projected for awhile as a number 2 pick though and Sacramento supposedly was going to trade the pick if they couldn't get him. He apparently isn't practicing/playing well enough to earn those minutes the Kings had resevered for him next to Cousins.

Royce White

At least Rivers despite how bad he's playing, is at least trying to take advantage of his NBA opportunity by actually stepping on the court. White on the other hand has proven to be the biggest waste of a pick because he'll never step foot on an NBA floor again.

i think some of you need to differentiate between "worst" and "most disappointing."

rivers is having a bad season. but i think it was generally assumed that he wasnt exactly ready to play nba ball. so his struggles arent exactly a surprise.

royce white on the other hand hasnt even suited up for a single game yet. now that is disappointing.

shame too. i really, really like White's game. The guy is one of the more unique players in the NBA. 6'8 260 Point-forward who can rebound, dunk (with authority), defend, and pass better than many PG's is something I'd like to see on an NBA court.

Agreed. After watching some of his college games I was excited to see him in the NBA. His passing was what really blew me away.

As previously stated I expected Rivers to suck, not this bad, but I am not disappointed or surprised he has sucked. Wtf was New Orleans thinking with that pick.

Rivers has actually hurt his team by playing tho, Id rather have a D-Leaguer instead of him at this point. But yea I wish White was playing.

Umm Royce White anyone? Had no problems with anxiety taking the bus and playing in front of crowds (in college) but now you wanna throw away an NBA career cuz you shook of airplanes and wanna be a spokesperson for head cases? He's my dissapointment and gets no sympathy from me.

The thing about Rivers, is the only people I saw expecting a lot out of him, were casual fans. All the hardcore fans I talk to thought he needed at least another year in college, because his game wasn't ready for the nba. So I don't think there were high enough expectations for him to be a disappointment.
