Well it's going to come down to the coaches and if the Pacers have a better record than the Nets still it will come down to that .

And? I said scoring, but you can take your tiny difference in FG% as well and I'll take DPOY candidate Paul George.

bklynny67

FG% aswell and Paul doesnt have 2 game winners.

so....?

You said George doesn't do ANYTHING better than Joe this yr, you were then proven wrong. He actually does just about everything better than Joe, the their scoring is VERY close.

In fact, if you look at a per 36 mins stats, George scores more PPG too.

So, again, Paul George is better than Joe Johnson this yr. Making 2 game winners doesn't make him an all star over someone that's having a better year... JR Smith has two game winners too and you don't think he's an all star, but that's of course cuz he's on the Knicks. If he was on the Nets you'd be trying to make the same case for him.

That makes you a very sad individual.

Oh, and George plays on a better team, while their best player has missed the whole season so actually he plays on a much better team and we know the all star voters like winners.

bklynny67

he does nothing better than Joe this yr

Joe Johnson
Per Game
17 ppg, 0.3 bpg, 0.6 spg, 3.5 apg, 2.9 rpg, 79% FT, 37% 3PT, 43% FG,

Per 36 mins
16 ppg, 0.2 bpg, 0.6 spg, 3.3 apg, 2.8 spg

Paul George
Per Game
16.7 ppg, 0.7 bpg, 1.5 spg, 3.7 apg, 80% FT, 38% 3PT, 42% FG

Per 36 mins
16.5 ppg, 0.7 bpg, 1.4 spg, 3.6 apg

So you say Paul George does NOTHING better than Joe Johnson this yr, then procedes to get his hopes and dreams crushed.

Paul is better per game at blocks, rebounds, steals, assists, 3pt %, FT% and only shoots 1% on FG%.

Then PER 36 mins, Paul is even better than Joe at PPG, along with all those other stats listed.

So DMF..... what did u mean by Paul doesn't NOTHING better than Joe this yr? When it clearly looks like he does just about everything better??

Plus plays for a much better team.

Clearly Paul George deserves to be an all star over Joe Johnson. Maybe they both will be left off, but if there's a choice, it's pretty obvious it's not Joe.

Paul George should def make the all-star game, there not that many good swing mans in the east. He's also on a team with a good record. Not only does George have much better stats then Joe Johnson he also is a way better defender then Johnson, it's a no brainer

hes also been fairly consistent. In the last 19 games hes has only scored less than 15 points 3 times and has had 5 rebounds or less only twice.

December statline: 7.6 RPG 4.1 APG 1.0 BPG 1.7 SPG 2.9 TOPG 18.8 PPG .458 shooting %

January statline (5 games): 10.3 RPG 3.3 APG 0.0 BPG 1.5 SPG 3.3 TOPG 18.8 PPG .387 shooting %

His averages the last two months are more indicative of his recent play.

Have you watched this kid on defense? Tim Duncan and PG are the most underrated players in the NBA and this is because of defense. Everyone talks about Noah, Chandler, Ibaka, Iguodala, and a few other's defenses. Yet, everyone underrates guys like Garnett, Duncan, and George. These guys should all be starting on the all-star game. You guys need to open your eyes and realize that defense is just as important as offense.

I wouldn't mind Paul George making the all star squad but I think the most important thing George is doing is picking up the slack for the Pacers. He's doing everything he can to help his team win, and in the meantime, he's putting together some solid performances.

I think he's getting close to a complete player if he's not already? He came into the league as a defensive specialist who's developed his game in a way to where he can do everything on the court. I think he could make the team if voted in by the coaches because I'm sure he's earned the respect of every team the Pacers have faced so far this year...

Literally lol'ed at the 2 game winners as if that matters at all. Good for him, but that should have nothing to do with all star voting.

You know when your team doesn't have the ball? We call that defense. Paul George happens to be the best defensive player in the NBA this year. I guess Joe Johnson beats him in points per grey hair though.

Honestly, and this is 100% the truth...

When people think of Joe Johnson, the first thing that comes to mind is WORST CONTRACT IN NBA HISTORY.

The second thing is How the hell did the Hawks get rid of that contract.

The third thing is Man the Hawks must be thrilled they found a team dumb enough to take that contract, plus the Hawks got better by trading him.

Then maybe the forth thing people think of is, Joe Johnson is a former all star.
