The Memphis Grizzlies have held preliminary trade talks involving Zach Randolph.

The Sacramento Kings are one team that have engaged the Grizzlies on Randolph, according to a source.

The Grizzlies have also been discussing a trade centered on Rudy Gay.

No deal involving Gay is imminent, according to a source.

Makes more sense moving zach than gay to cut costs.

They ahve Arthur and speights who are competent to take the starting role.

Behind Gay theres nothign in the bench.

He is older also.

Thats a pretty good case, but its sort of like saying a team should trade Wade instead of Bosh. There is some sense to it, but at the same time, Z-Bo is the teams 2nd best player and Gay is arguably its 4th-5th.

i think talent pool in the grizzles is too similar in the top 4 to say who is best , second best etc.

They win or fail as a TEAM, something not in fashion on the league lately btw.

I read somewhere that the grizz want tyreke Evans so maybe a deal around Evans and z-bo

Memphis is not making sense anymore.

"Let's trade Gay! Let's trade Rudolph!"

Do they not want to win this season or next?

One is very inefficient and one is good but aging , best to get something for both while their value is high.

They can let Garcia walk in the off-season. Beas and Brown both qualify under the stretch provision. Evans, Dudley, Robinson and a few picks put them in a good position.

Based on what? Its not even close statistically.
