Pau still shoots 5-8 times per game? That's outrageous. Clearly Kobe needs more shots.

come on now, if you're gonna make a thread about "numbers", get your numbers right

kobe 22.0 FGA
gasol 11.2
howard 10.7
artest 10.9

almost the same shots as 08-09 and 09-10

I havent used those numbers because the seaosn is not finished unlike the other ones, the trend in the last games has gone for more kobe shots and less shots for the rest of the team.

At current pace at end of the season it will be kobe 25 Howard 9 Artest 8 Pau 8-

Kobe is taking too many shots... this season was supposed to be about passing the torch to Dwight and letting him come into his own.

Clearly, the patter of championships, is a more balanced appraoch. As a rule (though there are exceptions), teams who share the ball do better than teams who don't.

The Lakers don't, and their current record reflects that.

FGA is not a good number to use because it doesn't include free throws. Dwight goes to the line more than Kobe.

Another Kobe bashing thread...

. Remember Dwight shoots 10 free throws a game too. He turns it over at an extremely high rate on the block as well.

I think Dwight is a system player in all truth. He needs shooters all around him and needs literally all the space in the middle to have room to operate in a pick and roll.

He does shoot too much, but he backs it up wit efficiency. Outside of Nash, he's our only perimeter player that can score.

Pau has sucked this year big time.

Some other numbers:

Kobe's TS%: .592
Dwight's TS%: .573
Pau's TS%: .477
Metta TS%: .547

Kobe TO/gm: 3.4
Dwight TO/gm: 3.2

considering people complain about Dwight not getting enough touches, if Dwight were to get even more touches than he already does, our issue with Turnovers would be much worse than it already is.

Kobe is by far our most efficient scorer. If he is fouled, he won't miss FT's. Since Nash has come back in the line up, Kobe rarely has a game shooting under .500.

At some point, you have to realize that to win as a team, you need to go with your best option at whatever you're doing and stop whining about not getting touches. Kobe scores, and he does it very well. He doesn't even have the ball in his hands the majority of the time now, Nash does. The reason Kobe still gets so many touches is because he's the best and most reliable option we have.
