As good as they've been playing, that's ALOT of difficult games. The 4 game road trip is also a 4 in 5.
You guys think they'll still have the 5 seed at the end of the month or will they fall back a little?

wow, well, if they have a winning average in january, I'd consider this stretch a success.

It's the month I've been looking forward to. So many tough tests. Got off to the right start, the rest could depend if they get a massive upgrade at their weakest position by the middle of the month or not.

If they're the 6 seed by the end of the month, it's a big win for the squad. Any better and they're a contender.

The Warriors are 11-4 against teams above .500, which is best in the NBA. I think they will be fine

The Warriors seem to be doing well against good teams, but this will be the first time they consistently see good teams every time they play for a long stretch. I think they end up around 9-6 this month.

Yea but the warriors are makings lot of noise right now and people wanna know if they are for real. This months test will show everyone that they are or not real. Even if their playing without their, arguably, best player

yeah, they are slowly convincing me as well. When my Wolves aren't on, I usually catch the first half of Warriors games (I live in Houston, they play late sometimes here), cause I really like Curry. They are for real this season so far. This month will tell us how real at this point.

Bogut will help so much man. I love the way he plays, with a mean streak. Hoping he gets back, and STAYS back.

Outside of CHI/MIA/SA/CLIPS, they can beat all those other teams and even take one from those 4 squads mentioned

its a brutal stretch because of 4 in 5nights, but the other teams wont be fresh each and every game either, so i can see a 11-4 best stretch and 8-7 worst, or how about they pull a CLIPS and just win'em all for the month

GS matches up well with the Clippers period. Beyond that they play like it's game 7 of the finals every time they see the Clips which is weird to me. I don't understand dating back years why they get up so much for the H2H. I mean the crowd was given playoff style white shirts FFS.

That being said I expect Clippers to get payback this Saturday as well as January 21st after being embarrassed so bad yesterday while GS mocked Clippers players and fans taunted like that. The next two are at Staples.

They have been playing like its game 7 just about every game. This team just tries harder then Everyone else.

And yeah Bazemore jumping on the bench when Griffin missed that 3 was a little over the top.

Clippers are on a back to back with the Lakers which is a huge game for them, then they play us. I think that Lakers game is going to tire them out allot, while we have three days of rest. We already lost to Memphis at home once so I see us being motivated to win against them. I think the Bucks game is going to be tough, just because it's on a back to back, and I think Ellis is going to try and win the game by himself. Which could benefit us, but it could also hurt us.

It's too bad, they really had Memphis on the ropes and Denver was done until they went Supersan in the 4th. Those were ugly defeats to take in this month. In either case, if they somehow still have the 5 seed after January? Impressive. They'll have a good shot at HCA if Bogut comes back sometime in February.

Did I just write that?

The Warriors are 11-4 against teams above .500, which is best in the NBA. I think they will be fine
This. Forget the Warriors you think you know people. This is a completely different animal. We've done this well this whole season without arguably our best player (Bogut) and our 6th man Brandon Rush who was our main glue guy. Both are such great fits with this team and will add so much when they return (Bogut this year, Rush next).

The entire roster compliments each other so well on the court, Bob Myers should be GM of the year and Mark Jackson is clearly the COY. Hell, you could make the argument Curry(best shooter I've ever seen) and Lee(20/10 machine) are in the MVP conversation. , let alone all-stars. You would have to be a Warriors fan or watch all their games to realize what jarret jack has brought ot this team, but he's be sensational. All this and they start 2 rookies, a 2nd year player, and play another rookie big minutes off the bench.

I understand it takes a few years for the national public and media to catch on, but the Warriors are here and here to stay. We get Biedrins and Jefferson's contracts off the books at the end of next year ($20 million/year) and our best talent is already locked up for years. We've got great young players most people have never heard of like Jenkins/Bazemore/Green/Ezeli.

This is truly the most promising up and coming team in the NBA, even over Denver IMO.

The last 20 or so games are almost all at home and do weak teams. Warriors will finish 5th at least and possibly even 4th if Memphis slides.

One thing this team has in common with the "We Believe" Warriors or 2008... nobody wants to see us in the playoffs, that's for damn sure. Could this be the best shooting team assembled in the last 20 years? I believe so!

Nuggets will get the fifth seed.

That's why you use the SRS. It's margin of victory and strength of schedule. It's what you were talking about, except actually quantifies it.
LOL Im not going to post their SRS this month vs the last.

You use the entire sample, not just one month.

But you said it was what I "was talking about". Im talking about the similarities in the close games between the 2 months.

should i post the knicks upcoming schedule?

There's more than enough Knicks and lakers threads for everyone's liking so try the Knicks forum more often from now on.

Edit: for the record a spurs fan not a warriors fan made this thread

You predicted regression based on close games, which is fair, Portland is going through that now, but SRS is a far better predictor in future success than just this basis.

Not sure what you were expecting me to do with SRS that wasn't already covered with the simple fact I gave him.

Seems to me like you want to spread the use of a stat regardless of the context but its not needed here. Both tredigs and I are well aware to its uses. I mean how would you have posted in response to that? Use SRS the way you were wanting me to.
