For Kings fans, I suppose the only positive in this is the Kings organization is finally taking steps to discipline Cousins. They've let the league deal with a lot of his problems and I'm surprised Petrie had the guts to actually suspend Cousins.

Not surprising at this point leaving the kings would be the best move for his career

DMC would flourish in Boston but Boston doesn't have the assets to acquire him....don't see the spurs with enough pieces either

Just thinking out loud not saying these are realistic scenarios

Derrick williams and ? For boogie
What could the sixers give? ET? Thad?
McGee and Jordan Hamilton ? Iggy?
Bargnani?
Monta Ellis?
What could atl give? Jeff Teague ?
What could Dallas give?

Just thinking out loud

12-22-2012, 06:17 PM
Demarcus Cousins is such a talented player. He's arguably the most talented center in the game (in terms of skill and raw ability) but being on a dismal Kings team is holding him back.

He shouldn't be arguing with his coach, but I can understand his frustration. He's a competitor and a very talented player, so being on a team that has talent on paper but can't play as a team has got to be frustrating. The Kings have so much talent on paper. I don't understand why they can't put it together. I think a lot of the Kings players could go elsewhere and be really good. Cousins, Tyreke, Thornton, Aaron Brooks, Isaiah Thomas, etc. On a sidenote, Jimmer has been playing really well.

A_Bynum_sucks

Normally I might say part of the reason Cousins has acted like he has is because he's sick of the Boring little town like Sacramento, and of constantly losing. But sorry, that's not it. Cousins has a long history of this type of behavior, even going back to Junior High school. And, his play is not at all good. He is as Unathletic as they come. Lazy & shiftless. Will likely EAT his way out of the league really soon. And, barely shooting 41 %
from the floor ???

Sorry but, ANY Kings fan who thinks Cousins has any sort of Value are NUTS! Yeah, another team COULD believe that once they get a hold of Cousins that they can turn him around, well they probably also believe that both

How exactly is it false ? Cousins was kicked out of 4 High School games, and was suspended twice during his only season at Kentucky. His behavior is NOT because he is in Sacramento. Nor will it change if he played in L.A. or Miami or Boston.

I think OKC should go for him. Offer Perkins and a couple picks they got from Houston. They'd probably have to take on a bad contract like Outlaw too.

I also think the Kings should trade Evans too. I don't think he's a true fit in the NBA because of his shooting. I'd move him now and start a full rebuild again. I don't think this roster has much of a future.

DMC had a mature respose:

"What happens in the locker room stays in the locker room. But I was wrong. I was wrong," said Cousins, who scored nine points in 20 minutes. "I'm a player that definitely wants to win every night, and I'm an emotional player. That's never going to change. But I shouldn't have responded back. Something was said, and I just should have stayed quiet. Is it a humbling thing? Yeah, I will say that. I mean, I messed up and I apologize to my teammates for responding the way I did and I'll move on from it."

This guys has some issues, like a lot of us, and it seems the Kings have put out an effort to help address these issues and have been patient. I wouldn't give up on him just yet, but I can understand the Kings' frustration.

My question is: What exactly did he say to warrant a suspension? I'm very curious to find out.

That said, I'd take him in TO over Bargs for sure.

I'm not sure the Celtics or the Spurs cna change this guy, though it would be interesting to see him mentored by Tim Duncan.

If Philly is interested in moving Bynum, maybe Sac-town would be a good destination.

That said, since I've heard Evans is already on the trade block, packaging the two of them together may be appealling to a lot of teams. If the Bobcats could work out a trade that wouldn't involve MKG or Walker, Charlotte could look to make a big turnaround. Maybe GSW could talk Sac-town into taking Biedrins off their hands (not likely though).

The Sacramento Kings trade DeMarcus Cousins ($3.9 million, 2 years), Marcus Thornton ($7.5 million, 3 years) and Thomas Robinson ($3.4 million, 4 years) for Kevin Love ($13.7 million, 4 years) and Nikola Pekovic ($4.8 million, 1 year).
Cousins is is about as good as you can expect to get back for Love. Robinson and Derrick Williams, both with that Paul Milsap feeling that they will be great if given the time, will compete for time as the starting power forward or the sixth man. The Timberwolves still lack at the shooting guard position, and Marcus Thornton provides them with one of the better options in the league.
The Kings get the best power forward in the NBA. They also get Pekovic starting at center, a familiar front court. Robinson could easily be switched out with Williams in the trade.

I'd be ****ing frustrated too if we decided to run the triangle in the off-season and pre-season, than decide to stop running it and decide to run nothing instead.. Kings don't have an offense, and we have chucking/no defense playing PG's.. you guys think Jimmer is bad at D??? look at ISAIAH and Brooks lol... I'd ****ing hate to be a big on the Kings, no one has any idea how to make an interior pass, and the DMC is tired of telling his PG's to play defense...

Since DeMarcus Cousins trade speculation is sure to be Twitter's new favorite sport, one team I'm sure will put in a call: Pat Riley's Heat

Lotta teams will call SAC, obviously. And Miami would need third-team help. Point is: Riles still loves idea of guys who scare most teams

DMC to Houston. Morey, make it happen!

I've heard that rumor online. But I don't think it's a great fit. He's a hothead and it's like the Kings all over again. Can McHale control him? will he check the attitude?

Houston has the pieces to make it happen. They won't trade anyone on their starting 5 but Monte, Machado, Patterson + pick would be a match.

Morey have always wanted DMC for a while now. even on draft, Morey tried to trade up to be able to acquire DMC.

last year also, as i recall, when DMC had his issues with the Kings, Morey made a call to Petrie to inquire about him.

you can be sure he will take a look at DMC's situation at Sacramento very closely.

I do like this trade, and I do like the idea of the twin headed snake with Asik and Cousins. However, it's not a nessary trade for us. His bad attitude might screw our chemistry that the rockets are trying to build. If I was morey, I would wait until the off-season to make this move and access if the trade is needed.

If Cousins didn't have this bad attitude, he could easily become one of if not the best center in the league.

Something is wrong with this man... not sure a change of scenery is what the doctor ordered.... He actually might need to truly see a doctor... No matter where he ends up, he will most likely do more harm than good if he does not get it together....

It's sad really because he has so much upside on the court. He could dominate if he really dedicated himself.

Watch him turn in to another eddy curry.

Should've drafted Drummond and traded this headcase.

The Pelicans (lol) should go after him and try to team him up with Davis for a monster front court.Maybe they can convince Eric Gordon to go to Sac.

A Gordon/Cousins trade wouldn't make sense unless they can find a suitor for Reke/ Gordon and Reke together won't work.

Sarcasm?

I do like this trade, and I do like the idea of the twin headed snake with Asik and Cousins. However, it's not a nessary trade for us. His bad attitude might screw our chemistry that the rockets are trying to build. If I was morey, I would wait until the off-season to make this move and access if the trade is needed.

If Cousins didn't have this bad attitude, he could easily become one of if not the best center in the league.

I think that's where he's going. And if so it won't take long b/c Riley will trade anything for him not name Wade or LeBron.

What are the Rockets ceiling w/

Asik
Cousins
Parsons
Harden
Lin

That's atleast a 1st rd. team. Maybe even 2nd. That backcourt gelling, ADMC manning the post D. You know Lin and Harden will get him the ball too.

On another note: I'd think of trading Shumpert and either Novak or Copeland/Camby for him. Tyson Chandler needs help and DMC would be in check by Woody.

Chandler
Cousins
Melo
Felton
Kidd

that's a tough starting 5. Tyson would be rejuvenated.

this guy is going to run his career down with his immaturity! Sad to see such a talented guy waste his talent with his stupid, immature acts!

In terms of talent, no. Thomas Robinson could be a great starting power forward. Having him and Derrick Williams competing for time would be great. DeMarcus Cousins is a headcase, but he's about the most youthful talent the Timberwolves could ever get back for Love, other than Blake Griffin. And Cousins would finally have a decent point guard to pass him the ball, so I think he'd be even better.
It's about whether the Timberwolves could concentrate Cousin's energy toward basketball. A lot of people though Zach Randolph was talented but hopeless headcase, and the Grizzlies turned him into a monster at power forward who is widely loved by the fan base.

you come up with some of he weirdest trade proposals.the wolves had a chance to draft cousins but decided against it because of his attitude problems, nothing has changed in that regard to make them rethink it.besides love,if traded, could net for a much, much better haul

The Sacramento Kings trade DeMarcus Cousins ($3.9 million, 2 years) to Boston for Jared Sullenger ($1.3 million, 4 years), Fab Melo ($1.3 million, 4 years) and Avery Bradley ($1.6 million, 2 years).
If anyone can get cousins under control, it's Kevin Garnett. If Cousins can be made into a respectable basketball player by the time Garnett retires, then it will have been worth it, and the Celtics will have two very good pieces for the transition.
Sacramento will get a lot of unproven talent, but they'll get rid of the headaches and increase their depth in the front and back court.

Rondo isn't going nowhere.

So then he is going somewhere?
