Don't see the need to including that statement.

It's true. It would be one thing if the lakers were struggling on offense, and getting nash back would obviously fix that. But their issue is defense and nash is not going to improve that. I'm looki g forward to seeing how they use dwight with nash back.

Aren't the Lakers one of the worst transition defenses in the NBA?

Having Nash get more efficient shots means less transition baskets for the opposition which would help in that department.

Nope.

Look at 29$JerZ's post about the Lakers struggles.

Absolutely. This is something that people are failing to understand. We're 22nd I think in assists, 29th in turnovers. Those turnovers lead to easy transition buckets.

Whatever Nash gives up on one-on-one defense, he makes up for and then some on limiting turnovers and getting us good shots.

One of the lakers biggest weaknesses is pick and roll d.

Yeah, but P&R defense really has little bearing on how good you are as an individual defender. It's all about team defense, and honestly our bigs are a huge problem in that regard (including Dwight), because they never hedge ball screens... ever lol.

Just to add, I don't think he'll play against the Dubs. I think it'll be the Knicks on Christmas or else the end of Dec.

I really don't see Nash lasting long. I think he's in line for a billups type fall off. Non-stop injuries for no reason, but old age And wear and tear.

You have to wonder how durable a guy can be when he breaks his leg bumping into someone.

Add in the fact mike d has 0 thought process when it comes to minutes. Wouldn't surprise'e to see mike running him 30-40 mins right out the gate. That's what mike does.

Problem is they still need time to adjust. These guys have played what? 5 quarters together this year?

The most unfixable flaw in the Lakers defense is their transition defense, which can be limited if Steve Nash is out their taking care of the ball. The less they need to run back on D the more energy they have to play defense where they're supposed to.

i actually think offence is their problem because all those fast break and easy dunk in the paint are from turnovers or bad shots letting them leak. their starting 5 aren't bad one on one defenders.

You could teach a middle school team that system in a week. It's pretty simple, especially since Nash will do the rest.

Lakers should know what they have pretty quickly.

It'll give them another option besides Kobe on offense and it'll help bring some depth to this roster that has one of the worst benches in the league. It'll.also help cut down on TOs which the Lakers are 29th in. All of these things will dramatically help muster the defense. This time off will likely prove to be a blessing in disguise for Nash.

They have been struggling on offense. Check the fg% of their losses. Defense is just the "bigger" issue. And good offense does actually help your defense. Its why when Nash was in Phoenix the defense was better with him on the court them him off.
