A Washington Wizards official confirms that point guard John Wall, who has missed the entire season with a stress injury to his left patella, will have his knee re-examined by noted orthopedic specialist David Altchek in New York on Friday.

The official said the team hs no timetable for Wall’s return.

The Wizards announced that Wall would miss “approximately” eight weeks with the injury on Sept. 28, about 11 weeks ago.

He has been unable to practice, scrimmage or elevate to shoot during that time.

A Wizards source said the club will err on the side of caution regarding Wall's return, only allowing him to play when he is "100 percent healthy."

Would make far more sense for the Wizards to shut him down for the rest of the season.
That is just a terrible team they assembled and somehow they became a worse team with Nene, Okafor, & Ariza than they were with Young, McGee, & Blatche.

What's even worse is that the upcoming draft isn't all that good

They'll probably be looking at another Jan Vesely

Hes been healthy the last 2 seasons of then some minor injuries.

Its just a shame 2 of the most explosive PG's we have ever seen come into the league in Rose/Wall each have to sit out possibly the season.

Damn, that really sucks for him and the Wizards. I agree, just shut him down for the season.

Wizards need a big man who plays defense instead.

Nerlens Noel would be my guy.

Noel reminds me of Tyson Chandler but a better shotblocker.

I thought John Wall would have been elite at this point of his career.

I thought John Wall would have been elite at this point of his career.

As a PG you're only as elite as the team around you.

Wall has been very good with career averages of 16 PPG, 8.2 APG, 4.6 RPG so far.

*Chris Paul & Deron Williams were the only other PGs besides Wall last season to put up 16 PPG & 8 APG.

I really thought this was going to be his breakout year. Supposed to be healthy and had a nice veteran group of guys to play with. Wizards are just awful right now and John Wall will probi never come close to his potential anymore.

John Wall needs to get out of Washington. I love the kid, but that team is wrecked. They still owe Nene 39 mil after this year, Ariza and Okafor are getting a combined 22 mill next year, so they have no room for free agents next summer, which means they're going to be bad again.

John Wall has not been developed as a player properly in Washington... the coaches he's had also suck.

He def needs out of Washington. That franchise is holding him back. I have no clue how they turn down Harden for Beal. Awful

I see what you're saying but you'd like to see it work for Washington. They've had a pretty tough time for...well a really long time. It would be nice for Wizards fans to actually have a really good team.

But yeah, if he's gonna miss a lot of time it may be best to shut him down for the year, and yeah-hope for the best pick you can get.

Anyway, get well John!

How does this report indicate he's not coming back this season?

I fully expect to see both Rose and Wall back before the Feb trade deadline...

They should shut him down for the year. Would rather him come back next year 100% and have the off season to get back in shape

wwhhhaaattt?!?!?!?! How in the hell is this draft any worse than last years??? first of all evry rookie from this years draft is suckin balls so far, with exception to a "couple" of games from davis, and lillard........mkg,t-rob, drummond, beal, barnes are all lookin like role players in a couple years....this draft will include shabazz muhammed, nerlens noel, cody zeller,Archie Goodwin,Alex Poythress, and james mcadoo....how is that a weak draft?

Wall made me wonder when he got drafted, but half the time he's confused and the other half he's injured. Bust, in my opinion.

Davis, Lillard, Drummond (21 PER), Waiters, Beal, MKG are are better crop. Seriously Davis > Noel and Zeller MKG > Poythress, Shabazz remains to be seen and Mcadoo has slipped out of the big board top 10.
