There are five elite teams in the Western Conference.

Spurs, Thunder, Lakers, Grizzlies, and Clippers.

Spurs. They are just too old. Next would be the Clips.

Lakers are not elite YET. But they will be.

Lakers winning it all

You're going to call Lakers elite even if they miss playoffs?

You can't really determine this without knowing matchups.

1 would assume whichever doesn't have HCA but that's not even a given anymore.

They are posting elite marks in efficiency and have an elite differential. Likely to finish as the fifth seed.

And they also had 12 home games...we had 14 ROAD games...so i don't think they will be anyhing better if they(kobe and dwight) don't let nash lead the offense...

Clippers.

Lakers, Spurs, and Thunder are too good to lose at this stage. Grizzlies playing superb this year. Clippers' over-saturated roster will blow itself up by the end of the season.

If they aren't, you have to leave PSD forever and if they are, I will leave PSD forever.

We got a deal you buster?

Tell me what you think the eight spots are going to be. I am genuinely curious now.

One of the LA teams. I think they'll face each other in the first round and don't see the Lakers getting a seed higher than 4 because this start to the season may be to much too overcome record wise.

Will the Lakers even MAKE the playoffs?

kobe4thewinbang

Will the Lakers even MAKE the playoffs?Yes. They are in trouble with Nash out, Gasol being lost in the mix, Blake out, the new coach, hack-a-dwight, poor defense overall, Kobe being Kobe, inconsistent bench production despite a huge game by Jamison a few games back, and the list goes on. All that aside, I think they're still better than every western team except San Antonio, OKC, Memphis and LAC. They should be the 5th seed, but the way the orders flop around in the final stretch might put them to 6th, 7th or 8th. They'll make it, but they're not going to win. Next year, maybe, if Dwight stays and they bring back Phil.

Its been a weird start for the Nuggets no doubt. Its going to be tough to gauge that team until much later in the season. They've played the least home games in the NBA (6) and the most road games (14) and have 4 of their next 5 on the road.

Could make for a HUGE run by them at the end of the season though as they will have tons of home games and we all know how hard it is to win in the mile high city.

That's the reason they lost to the Thunder last season.

not at all it was the exact opposite. Some of our younger role players decided not to show up that series and i think with a year under their belt the spurs will atleast make it back to the WCF

lol, Lakers are OLDER than the Spurs. Nash no longer has the Phoenix Suns training staff and is predictably breaking down.

About the topic, it's impossible to predict this early. Usually the team dealing with injuries come playoff time doesn't make it far.
