the lakers have said they wil not trade gasol. They want to see how the team plays with nash before making a decision.

ALso, the raptors and timberwolves have made trade pitches to the lakers.
Raptors were attempting to trade bargnani, Kleiza and calderon for Gasol.
While the Timberwolves were trying to trade derrick williams and pekovic

Also, Josh smith is untouchable and will not be traded.

Don't get why the Wolves would trade Pek, and I don't get why we would need him with Dwight here.

Rubio + Love + Gasol would be fun to watch. Love + Gasol would compliment each other so well

Nice show of faith by the Lakers FO too. I think a lot of that has to do with Kobe and Nash asking for Gasol to stay

I'd consider the Minny deal, but send Pek somewhere else. Pek + Dwight is kind of useless

Damn i really like the Klieza, Barg and calderon. Klieza is a bomb back up SF we could finally have and Bargs is a great PF for this system AND throw in a great back-up PG this would be a DREAM trade

I like the Toronto trade the most, not a big fan of either of them though

3 for Gasol? Toronto must be smoking something.

I mean it's Bargs who has not played good the past couple of seasons. He's averaging 4.4 rpg and his highest rebound season is 6.1. Barg's 3 point shooting has dropped significantly over the past couple of seasons.

MR. LA allows things like this to stay because it's the Lakers. That is very biased, I don't care how popular they are. The Warriors are still ahead of the Lakers and I should be allowed to talk about guys like Bazemore but instead he would tell me to post it on the Warriors forum when he knows I'm not allowed to start threads there.

To me Nash made a mistake by coming to L.A. should have just rode it out in Pheonix.

Brian Colangelo will get impeached if he trades 3 players for gasol... We better be getting back Metta then cause its an extremely stupid trade for us to get a 32 year old player who is possibly on the decline. ****ing Mitch Kupchak...

Does Gasol want to be a Laker? Maybe he just wants to get away from Kobe.

i think this the best trade option for the lakers providing them with 3 serviceable role players would make them a deep team including jamison meeks and hill. i still want them to keep pau but if they do trade him it should be for this deal plus a future first rounder

Why are they never trying to trade their bench or MWP?

Why are they never trying to trade their bench or MWP?

Because they're not on Brooklyn so no one wants them.

1) You guys aren't winning **** with what you have. Pau's expiring will also be a nice trade chip next season if it doesn't work out.

2) That may be the greatest sig of all time. Smart man

big difference between "thinking" and then "hoping/praying to the basketball gods"

-Don't go off of what you read from the 2 or 3 frequent Lakers posters here in the nba forum. You're better than that.

I'd take pek in some kind of a 3-way deal or multi-stage trade involving bargnani.

Gasol and 2 unwanted contracts(Blake and Duhon) for Der Will, Pek, Barea, another wolves player and unprotected 1st rd pick..
Love-Gasol-Rubio would be deadly!!

Nash alley oop to Howard&Williams would be nasty!!
With Pekovic as backup center and Barea as backup PG.. Oh Yeah!!

"...according to sources with knowledge of the Lakers' thinking."

Oh yeah, right. There are several people who are dialed in to the Laker's collective thoughts, the inner workings of the Lakers AI hive-mind. The source for this story must be one of those guys. Great reporting, sirs.

Actually, I think it is a lot more fun if we just all realize that nobody knows what the **** is going to happen with this at this point. Obviously Gasol is extremely expensive, and it might be better to get trade value for him now rather than later, and he is parked right now... but that is really all we know. The rest is just conjecture.

I highly extremely doubt that Toronto has offered Barngnani, Kleeza and Calderon and been "rebuffed." That is a laughable idea that Toronto actually picked up the phone and made that offer to the Lakers. I'm not sure the article exactly says that, it just mentions "some of the players discussed as possible blah blah blah," but still, let's get real.

Nah, Suns have needed to rebuild for years. Nash was winning too many games for us.
