View Full Version : Why is it that the worst teams always have the biggest guys?

Have you noticed that? See as a kindred Warriors fan, we were doing well on the boards, like 4th recently. Ezili is big, Lee continues to rebound, and Landry and our guards and forwards are rebounding. Curry getting 4 or 5 a game.

But it's the lesser teams with the worser records that seem to have length. Like tonight, the Pistons had a lot of length. Drummond abused us. The last game was against Orlando. They abused us with their size. And I keep hearing that GS addressed their size in the offseason. Yet, we still got abused with the length.

But why is that the worser teams seem to be a tougher match on the glass? (except for the Lakers and Grizzlies)

It seems like all the lesser quality teams always have these 7 foot 2 monsters.

The Warriors won tonight, but got out rebounded and to me that is as bad as a loss, as painful as a loss.

This is actually good insight. I never thought about it but you're right.

I think its because the teams strive to find that hidden/lucky gem so they continue to target these tall lengthy players to obtain that. However, most of these guys NEVER come close to their potential so ur left with a team saturated with a bunch of tall lengthy scrubs.

Uh, congratulations on not sucking for the first time in a long time to all Golden State fans. How Detroit became a lesser team is beyond me, seems like a pretty bold statement to make this early on in the season.

But good win tonight, and yes, Drummond is incredible.

How is getting out-rebounded equivalent to a loss?

But seriously, stop making threads. 3 new threads in less than 1 hr?? Dont you even feel a bit ashamed? Im not trying to be mean here, but comeon its a bit excessive here. Not all of your thoughts require threads.

Well to be fair, the last time you guys won more than 30 games was when you went 39-43 and made the playoffs. The Warriors can go 48-34 like they did in 08 and still miss the playoffs. The West is a little different league...

As to the OP's post, it's dumb and every Warrior fan who knows who he is seems to loathe him.

Not sure what point you're trying to make, you guys went 29-53 the year we made the playoffs with 39 wins. We had 59 wins in 07-08, and outside of that our records have been pretty much identical leading up to this point. If you want to pull the whole west coast card, that's fine but you guys play west coast style ball.

This isn't an argument worth getting into, I just didn't think it was fair for him to throw our team under the bus like that after you guys have had a quick start. It could go either way from here.

ODP, just STFU. i am an SF local born and bred. i will always have bias towards SF. but on an international scale, LA is ahead of us. thats it. more people want to live there, movies are made there..theres a reason it has a bigger population than the bay area...

How is getting out-rebounded equivalent to a loss?

Because when we lose the rebounding battle, we are 0-5. We outrebounded Denver on 11/23/12 in a loss. Our other loss vs the Magic we tied in rebounds. That's our 7 losses.

When we do outrebound the other team?

10-0.

Our win today vs Detroit we were outrebounded. So thats our 11 wins.

Check the box scores yourself if you don't believe me.

The Lakers won titles with their size, Boston had good size when they won, Dallas had good size, Miami didn't, but San Antonio did and about every other team that has won a championship in the last 10 years.. Size is a good thing, so IDK what you're talking about.

I love when people are trying to be all high and mighty and they contradict themselves.

How did you outrebound Denver in a loss and be 11-0 when you outrebound your opponent?

i was merely accounting for all of our losses.. one by one. so we are 10-1 when we outrebound, and 1-5 when we dont.

the point i was making is that we win when we outrebound, and lose when we dont.

There is more discussion here towards the OP and the threads he makes that the actual thread topic. Going to close this one down. Btw, take an extra minute or two to think before you decide to create a thread like this.. That's 2 of your threads I've have to close down tonight.
