Well the thing is that Melo's playing like a different player to what he was last year. Last year you needed to be a crazy homer to think he was the 2nd best player in the NBA, so that's why people thought you were.
Bragging about saying that a year ago is sort of like a Nets fan bragging about saying that they were a top 3 team in the East a year ago - it was stupid and made them a crazy homer back then, even if things have changed and it's true now.

Vegas doesn't "put their money where their mouth is".

They make betting lines in such a way that best will be even on every side so they get the juice and losing bettors cover winning bettors. Why do you think the line moves in football games? Its because they need to get more people to bet the other side.

Fact of the matter is if the Knicks get the one seed Melo gets mvp.

Only way melo wins without being the number 1 seed is if the heat finish 4 or lower which is unlikely although their severe lack of size or depth should lend a helping hand to the latter if the rest of the east can stay healthy.

melo has been great this season, but he isn't the 2nd best player in the nba... i believe KD just lead OKC to the finals last season and consistently leads his team deep into the playoffs... kobe, wade and cp3 are all great players as well... maybe you should say arguably the 2nd best player in the nba. although he's clearly not, until he wins, i'll just call him a top 10 player.

If by average you mean best PG in the league by far than you are correct.

Melo? Never liked him wherever he played. He's having for him a very good year. League wide he's not top 10. Only the very very hungry fans in NYK land - when was the last title 1974? are promoting this guys as an MVP. About as bad as Celtic homers talking Rondo as a serious MVP candidate - LOL.

I don't care what 15 game sample size, vegas odds link, knick player quotes you throw out, bottom line..until Melo can prove he can lead his team deep into the playoffs, consistently, he will never sniff top 5 in the NBA. Top 5 talent that hasn't proven a damn thing. Not even you can argue against that. ( but i'm sure you'll try...unsuccesfully)

Credit should be given to him. Melo's been absolutely tearing it up on both sides of court this year and should get, at least, some MVP considerations if he continues his same play throughout the year. However, history has proven thats a big "if"

Serious lack of front court depth is the reason why your playing small ball every night. The good thing I have noticed is the heats ability to close out tight games but clearly inferior opponents like the Cavs and spurs b team are making things interesting because of the matchup issues.

The depth you speak of are positions that your big three already play. Allen is a nice pickup even if he looks worse then last year. Lewis was an okay pickup even though he plays no defense. It still doesn't solve their lack of depth and size which will do them in this season.

Typical knicks fan response. Championships aren't won in the regular season. One day you guys will learn that, but not anytime soon :)

But trends and bad habits can be calculated and made during the regular season. Heat rolled the dice thinking their big three was good enough to not Ned a center but they have been exposed. They are lethargic to start games which is making them fight down the stretch against inferior opponents. They definitley have the championship hangover and they are a little too cocky for a team that is not on its own level like you heat fans try and force down our throats. The heat won't even finish as the one seed and Justin you and me can Sig bet on that one.

Typical knicks fan response. Championships aren't won in the regular season. One day you guys will learn that, but not anytime soon :)

Care to tell me how 16 Championships are won?

But trends and bad habits can be calculated and made during the regular season. Heat rolled the dice thinking their big three was good enough to not Ned a center but they have been exposed. I could care less if they get the one seed. they don't need it.

By having multiple players playing at elite level come playoff time.
