NBA's biggest come back story? Anyways can't wait.

He will obviously be played sparingly for the rest of the season, though we might catch of few glimpses of the healthy Rose. It's all a matter of time and patience when dealing with Rose, just hope he doesn't aggravate that leg, or else you have a T-Mac on your hands.

Ive torn my Acl and menescus and they didnt give me any futuristic medicine that the 90s didnt have just vicodines and therapy my friend.Im rooting for Rose but it just takes something out of you mentally in your head because you feel like something could happen again which is what worries me about him whether or not he will be as fearless attacking the basket or will be hesitant because that fearlessness is what makes him so great but look at Adrian Peterson he seems to have overcome it.

He needs to play full force once he's back in game shape. That ligament will be as strong as it's ever gonna be and the hardest thing for him will probably be trusting it.

Hopefully when Derrick Rose returns, he still plays basketball good.

If he comes back and plays to his full potential, it'll be one of those great comeback stories.

If he comes back very lackluster or injures himself again... I think the Chicago faithful's patience will snap faster than an ACL.

I bet his coach has him doing full court sprints and dunking his 1st day back.

Seriously WTF did he think was going to happen To rose playing him like that.

Hope rose does come back though, guy is to fun to watch. Bulls without him, I rather not watch the NBA.

The question is, can he out perform AP?

AP obviously came back ridiculously fast and could be the 7th player to reach 2,000 yards rushing as he needs just under 140 average over the next 4 games to get there.. my answer is No, Rose will not come back as strong as AP, and you can't blame him.... since AP clearly sold his soul to the devil for amazing ACL's

Rehabilitation... You're not a professional athlete... The medical field has advanced and rehab has changed immensely... It's all mental for him at this point

My gut is telling me he won't be 100% . I would love to see it even being a heat fan and all. I think too much damage is done kinda like tracy mcgrady in his orlando days. If he has been working on his shot and some quick post up moves they will be a spot for Rose in the nba.

I would rather him come back right than come back early. Rose is one of the most explosive players in the league, would hate to see him lose a step simply because he rushed back.

What exactly has the medical field advanced in terms of ACLs? Do you know or are you just assuming bc it's 2012, there are better treatments out there?

monzternipz12
12-04-2012, 10:44 AM
Even if Rose comes back, will it matter? We will still have the same problems as we did last year, maybe more. Sit him for the season. He's too big of an investment to chance it.

I mean its obvious... Look at how acl injuries used to be devastating

And then look at guys like David West, Adrian Peterson, etc

Acl injuries are no longer a death sentence... As much as people want to believe it, it's just not true

Playing him like what? Like a superstar? WTF are you talking about?

Everyone but his coach could see he was falling apart physically and laboring on the court. It was only matter of time before he was going break.

In my eyes, it's 100% thibs fault this happened. Rose was playing awful cominf off an injury, and was still logging 40 mpg.

Addition of prehab is thought to reduce loss of rom after surgery iirc from some of my classes. I also believe that Rose was injected with platelet-rich plasma which is thought to kickstart the healing process. Even the surgery itself is better performed for athletes. The tendon they used to recontsruct his acl came from one of his hamstring muscles rather than the tendon his patella is embedded in, which is thought to be more beneficial in the long term due to it being less likely to fail, less knee pain when kneeling, etc. Like Jpro said, med field is always improving. You see a similar thing with tommy john surgery too.

Great to see all the love Rose is getting.

Yes, I'm a Bulls fan, but I cringe when I see some people just blindly hate on Rose. This guy is a model NBA player. How can you hate on that?

GREAT news! As of now, Bulls are tied with Bucks, & Pacers for Division title which would give them 4th seed. Also Philly is 6th seed. Imagine if Rose is back and healthy, and they play Philly first round and he gets his revenge!!!!! That would just be GREAT

I hope he comes back better than ever, D Rose represents everything that is right about the NBA.

A Humble superstar who never takes a night off.

I think he will be back by February 11th, Bulls have like 3 games on National TV (although couple of them are on the road).

Super excited and can't wait to see him back playing on the court. It will be great for Bulls as well as the NBA.

Look out East.

I just wanted to add a couple of quotes from Bulls player/former player who watches Rose everyday at the gym.

"Derrick, he's a freak of nature," Hamilton said. "I'm serious, man. I seen him dunk one ball the other day, and I said, 'Man, you've got to be kidding.' He just went up, went up off the vertical, threw it in. And he's all humble, like, 'Ah, ha, ha.' But he's getting better every day."

Bulls color commentary Stacey King tells ESPN radio in Chicago that Derrick Rose is getting closer to returning.
King: "I'm getting hyped. I think everybody's getting hyped.. He's looking good, man. I think his jumper may even be 100 times better."
