Gramphis Gramzzlies.

Seriously Memphis, not as many people had them as a contender in the last thread as I thought there'd be.

Nets/Knicks/Heat are the three best teams in the East how can any be a dark horse?

I'll say Milwaukee.

Dark horse West:

I'll say Grizz

But the grizzlies are the best team in the west...how can they be a darkhorse?

Grizz aren't a dark horse anymore IMO.

Someone like the wolves could be considered a dark horse.

In a white mans body. :)

Id go with my sixers in the east if bynum is back by the playoffs and is the same bynum from last year we will have a real shot and its encoraging that we are best where miami is weakest... PG and Center that also happen to be the most important positions in the game
as for the west
OKC while still looked at as a great team is seen as much weaker than last year and everyone said the harden trade will hand the lakers or heat a title the fact is this team might be MORE dangerous than last season

I don't think there are many options for dark horse in the West since the top 4 teams don't really count as long shots and I don't know that the Lakers can be considered a dark horse either. I hate to be a homer, but that leaves me with the Wolves*

*If healthy (not including Roy)

Out East, I will take Indiana. I expect them to bounce back a bit here over the next couple months and improve in the absence of Granger before getting him back and having an extra push near playoff time.

Please don't say Knicks. So many people on this forum have already anointed them as the NBA champs.

please show proof of this. Some may overrate the players, but I have not seen ONE person say they were going to win this year.

East: Celtics

West: Grizzlies/Clippers, darkhorses since they still always take back seat to Spurs, LAL and OKC

Bulls if Rose comes back and Sixers if Bynum comes back.

Rockets. They are still learning to play with each other and have had a sort of a coaching 'change' mid-season with McHale unable to coach due to the death of his daughter. They are the youngest team in the league but already playing close to .500 ball. If all of the players keep progressing, they will be dangerous.

East - Sixers, Bulls
West - Mavericks

Each of one of these teams is missing by far their best player right now. They could all be sleeper contenders once/if they get their superstar players back this year.

I'll have to go with the sixers as well... I like the mix of vets and young talent they have. Especially good depth at the big man position once Bynum actually plays. How he fits into the team's philosophy will be the key.

No sleeper team is gonna win the chip, I'm a Knick fan so it's hard not to pick the Knicks..but Celtics started off slow last year and made it to the eastern conference finals, And the Hear are still the champs...as for the west, I got the Spurs, Grizz or Thunder.

If we must say Darkhorse than I'll say Dallas if Dirk comes back healthy...

They have been doing fairly well without him so far this year and O.J Mayo has come out of his shell.
