Rangers finalizing a deal with Soria. Thought to be 2 years, $8-9 million.

just like what they did with Joe Nathan

unless they want him for the rotation, doesnt he have 4 quality pitches?

Yeah, but probably doesn't have the stamina to go there

Could be a steal for the Rangers if he can pitch more like he did in 2010.

Joba, Robertson, Rivera is a good start. Don't think he was necessary.

Another quality arm would be nice. Can't trust Joba one bit. 8-9 million is a lot though.

$4M+/year is pretty cheap when catchers who are batting in the .230 range are going for $10M+/year

Aardsma, Logan, Phelps...we're good there. Get us a catcher and RF Cashman. Lol

Well the Rangers had all the leverage because Soria was coming off a bad 2011 season and TJ surgery last year.

Decent signing but the Rangers already have Feliz & Colby Lewis coming back from arm injuries.

Fantastic signing by the Rangers. Soria was an absolutely elite closer prior to last year and sometimes I wonder if people don't notice just how good he was.

this is a big move for the rangers...now they have to figure out their pitching, outfielding, and 1B

Wanted the Jays to go after him too, but our pen is fine, guess the money could be spent elsewhere. I like for Texas.

Actually Feliz will likely miss most or all of the '13 season due to TJ surgery while Lewis might not be ready until after the All-Star break coming off elbow surgery.

I like it a lot.

While I think the phrase "Low risk-High reward" is thrown around way too liberally, this is a prime example of that.

Wish my Tigers were the ones who grabbed him.

rangers bull; pen will be nasty if he bounces back form surgury
