You always hear the Legends during the Jordan era always say "I would of had a ring if there was no Jordan" I'm curious what teams you think would of played in the finals and what year it would of been and what players wouldn't be ringless if there was no Jordan

it wouldve been the karl malone era.

Even with no MJ that doesn't mean Malone takes over Hakeem.

Shaq probably would have won one in 96 and maybe stays in Orlando and starts a dynasty in the late 90's.

If that doesn't happen then Malone & Stockton probably win 1-3 in the late 90's.

Barkley probably grabs a ring.

1991 Lakers vs Pistons- Lakers win in 5
1992 Blazers vs Knicks- Knicks Physical style takes down the Blazers
1993-Suns vs Knicks- Barkley gets his title
1994- same
1995- same
1996-Sonics vs Magic- Sonics win in 6 Kemp-Payton vs Shaq-Penny with a lot of great shooters- Great matchup really
1997-Heat vs Jazz- Jazz win in 5, heat not ready yet
1998- Pacers vs Jazz- Pacers take down jazz with outside shooting

not to nit pick but it was 1997-1998, i do agree with you though, those rockets teams were not dominate they just caught fire in the playoffs and hakeem was playing out of his mind

The Suns, Jazz, and the Sonics would All have rings IMO. Those were all great squads with deserving legends. But Jordan is Jordan.

I think maybe Ewing gets one too, he was also deserving.

Well... here goes:

98: Utah over Indy? Could have went either way. Maybe even Charlotte of NJ
97: Utah over Heat
96: Magic or NY over Seattle?
95: Houston
94: Houston
93: Phoenix over New York
92: Portland over Cavs or Knicks? Any three of those teams could have won
91: Detroit over LAL (or maybe LAL over Philly?)

I think certainly Malone, Stockton and Barkley would have come away with rings and Shaq might have stayed in Orlando and won there. Also, I think Portland would have won in 92 easily, which may have changed the Houston situation with the trade of Drexler. I think Ewing may have very well still failed to come away with a ring, as he essentially lost twice in his prime when Jordan wasn't playing.
91 would have went to LA or Detroit. But wiht Jordan out of he way Barkley may have done better in Philly and may have stayed there, which would totally change the 93 season.

As for Seattle and Indy.. there is a big maybe there. They both certainly could have won.

It would have been a much more entertaining decade had Jordan not been around.

And yes, I am aware that NJ had the worst record in the East in 98, but they played VERY well against the Bull (and yes, it was a sweep, but NJ forced OT in Chicago for the first game and were withing a couple baskets of winning the second game and the officials hammered them that series).

Amen.

Not to mention he wouldn't have had Shaq to play wiht since Shaq would have won in Orlando and stayed there. and Kobe might have not been traded to LAL or if he was, wouldn't have had Shaq's shoulder to rise up on.

GP and Kemp would've won a couple.

GP and Kemp only got to the finals once, so the most they could have wn is one, and even that season, they may have been overwhelmed by the Knicks.

Since they only managed to come out of the West once in that decade, I don't see how they would have been able to win more than once, even with Jordan gone.
