Was just looking over conference standings and noticed that there is literally only 1/2 a game seperating SIX teams, with a seventh team 1 game back of that.

So, 4 weeks into the season, who do YOU think makes it into the playoffs and who gets left out?

1-5 Memphis, OKC, GSW, Clippers, SAS

6. Utah - 9/9 - 4.5
7. Houston - 8/8 - 4.5
8. Lakers - 8/9 - 5.0
9. Dallas - 8/9 - 5.0
10. Denver - 8/9 - 5.0
11. Minnesota - 7/8 - 5.0
12. Portland - 7/10 - 6.0

I'm thinking Lakers and Minnesota get a spot... after that, um... can I punt?

duh 1/2 game separating six teams, its been only 20/82 games. why should teams either be .800 or .200 team this early?

I think Houston Utah will fall out.

Dallas and Minnesota sneak in as they get healthy

Minny has been machine gunned by injuries. They are starting to get healthy.

Minny, Denver, Dallas, GSW, and Houston will fight for those last three. I think Minny and Denver for sure get one.

Then you have Houston, Dallas, and Golden State. Winner of the playoff seed is the healthiest team, in my opinion. I'll guess GSW, but I'll be rooting for Houston.

Spurs
Memphis
Clippers
Thunders
Lakers

I think those are guaranteed in.

Then the rest:

Houston
Dallas
Golden State

Lakers, Denver, Minnesota.

Lakers and Denver are too talented no to make it. Minnesota will certainly improve, with stars players returning from injury. Dont think the Mavs make it even when Dirk returns. Dirk will be 34 and is returning from a major injury, and i don't think will be the same player. Plus his numbers were declining the last couple of years, so thats also a sign.

What spot do you think the lakers end up in?

I think it will be important for them to finish with 5th seed or higher. If not they probably have to face Memphis, SA, or OKC in the first round. I think they can beat any other team.

I'd bet money that the Rockets just don't have enough to make it through 82 games above the line.

No way Portland manages to get in playing their starters 40 minutes a night.

Utah can't seem to win on the road. So, I'd knock them off as well.

Dallas is just treading water for free agency so I'd also figure they'll finish short.

LA, Minny (I hope) and Denver should make it.

That said, the West is poised to be very interesting the next few years with these re-builds taking place on the fly.
