You fined the Spurs $250,000 today because they rested their players. You said what they did was a "disservice to the NBA."

Ok, fine. That being said...

Can you fine the Maloofs the value of their team for committing a disservice to the NBA, the city of Sacramento, and the human race in general? It would be appreciated.

I don't think David Stern reads PSD threads.

Here you go though.

Isn't it the nba who scheduled this tough road stretch. Maybe they should have thought about this before and put the spurs vs heat game in the beginning of San Antonio's road trip.

not thread worthy.

This comment ruined my day. All I want is to submit thread worthy stuff to the NBA forum.

So Stern can do a legitimate disservice to the NBA by vetoing a trade out of nowhere and get away with it, yet when Pop rests his starters he gets fined a quarter million? Really Stern? Is your ego not big enough already? Is anyone else hoping Pop goes out of his way to make a mockery of the league next time he wants to do this? Like maybe he tells Duncan, Parker and Manu to stay out one minute past curfew so he can suspend them or something.

That fine is just crazy.

I would understand if Stern thought this was bad for the league and for the spirit of the game, and sent out a memo saying: For now of, if you bench healthy players who are normally in your line-up, then you will risk a fine from the NBA.

But without warning, doing this? It's crazy. Why didn't he do this last year when teams were doing it? Bosh, James and Wade all sat the last game of the season. And the second last game. The Suns and the Raptors bench 3 guys last night and gave them DNP's. Is Stern going to fine them?

This is fawking stupid.

And Sac-town deserves a better basketball team.

I strongly dislike stern as much as the next person, but the league purchased the team which made him defacto owner. As the owner he had the right to veto any deal.

^^^ some people don't get it... the second deal was much better for the hornets, i doubt they would've landed the top seed with pau gasol on the team. that said stern is only hurting himself with these stupid fines. san antonio does a service to the league by making san antonio a high profile team with only dunca, parker, ginobili and a bunch of nobody's. so thanks san an for doing a service to this league by making a great product of not much. and **** stern for bringing bad attention to the best organization in basketball. i'm a knick/nuggets fan btw but i just love the way san an is run.
