Listen to the pride he takes in his intangible worth.

“You don’t survive 12 years thinking about that,” said Brown after Wednesday’s practice. "Only the strong survive. If I thought like I was being thought of in the media, I wouldn’t be here. That’s just a testament to myself — that I can’t see myself like you guys do. I just go out and play.”

“I can do a lot more,” Brown said. “I’m going to surprise him (Collins) just like I surprised Paul Silas (in Charlotte in 2010-11) with some of the things I can do when I’m healthy.”

Kobe Bryant says hes one of the greatest low post defenders of his era while at the same time wondering how hes managed to trick so many teams into paying him big money.

Is it time to give the guy some respect? Why do fans still boo him?

Most fans just can't get the former #1 overall pick being a buss and see that he's actually quite solid in a reserve capacity on the defensive end of the floor for basically any team in this league. He's one of the biggest busts in the history of the game. Cool we get it, now let's get past that and see why he's still in the league.

I love how Laker fans are programmed to just think this way all the time

“You know what, he may have showed Andrew a couple of things though, especially on screen-and-roll coverages and one-on-one defense. Offensively? No way,” Bryant said. “Kwame, he’s a great defensive player. He’s one of the best defensive big men I’ve ever seen. But in terms of offense, he was challenged.”

He's the GBOAT. But he's underrated as a player.

Why does Kobe's opinion matter again?

Kwame butterfingers Brown.

The reason he is mocked is because he is a former #1 draft pick - in other words a bust.

Had he not been drafted that high this guy would be seen as a solid backup big. Heck, teams seems to think so.

Is he a bust sure...He did not live up to the hype even a little but he is still a solid player and stayed 12 years in a tough league where everyone was throwing him under the bus...I agree it does take a ton to keep your head above water when it seems like everyone is out to get you.

Why does Kobe's opinion matter again?

Maybe because he is one of the best players in the league and played with him for a very long time

Kwame is a solid back up C. As he said, you don't last in the league for 12 years for nothing.
