View Full Version : Guys you'd like to see get more minutes

I don't know about you all, but I know I've been dying to see Asik get starting minutes for a couple of years now. His per36 minute stats were awesome in Chi-town, and so far he's not disapointing.

But there are still a lot of guys who aren't getting minutes that I'd like to see get more.

I think most Detroit fans will agree with me when I say that Drummond needs more minutes. The guy is averaging 12 boards a game per36, and 14 points, which is impressive considering they really aren't running a lot of plays for him.

Another rookie who is posting impressive per36 stat is the Bucks' Jon Henson. I haven't gotten to watch any Bucks games (I honestly can't remember watching hte Bucks since Sam Cassell and Ray Allen were there lol), but his per36 stats are crazy for a rookie: 18+ points and 12+ rebounds a game? Insane! He's putting up better numbers than Larry Sanders (though the Bucks might be trying to increase his trade value as I heard he is on the block?!?!?)

I'm also curious to see what Josh Harrekkson is capable of doing with starting minutes. I figured that when he signed with miami he'd get more minutes, since they really don't have a center, but, c'est la vie. He has been playing well in the 3.3 minutes he's been getting... lol.

So who are you guys curious to see get more minutes?

I'd like to see the Lakers give Jodie Meeks a consistent 15-20 minutes a game, he's been playing better as of late with increased minutes and it would been both the Lakers and Kobe's legs throughout the season.

Drummond.

I think if he was getting 30+ minutes (like he deserves) he would average at least 12, 10, and 2 blocks.

When hes on the court hes almost always our best player.

Its pretty scary considering most "experts" said he was so raw that he wouldn't be ready for at least 3+ years.

I agree with Drummond. No idea why the bucks don't let Henson play. Watching them the other night Harris is not a future starter and ersan is rather unimpressive this season.

I'd love to see the Rockets let Terrence Jones play a bit more.

Jae Crowder for my Mavs.

Andre Drum.

Lawrence Frank is a ****ing idiot for not starting him and giving him only 16 minutes per game when hes been like our best player.

More minutes: Jeff Teague, Zaza Pachulia, Anthony Morrow, and Ivan Johnson.

Fewer (or no) minutes: Johan Petro, Anthony Tolliver, Devin Harris, Deshawn Stevenson.

Everyone else: You're good.

Dunno about Drummond, he's still very young, maybe this is good for him at the moment.

I would like to see Crowder from Dallas getting starter minutes, and what's with Terrence Jones in Houston? He was good in the summer league and preseason..

I would also like to see some team giving Darko Milicic another shot as a starter. It's time for him to have a breakout season. Guy is manna from heaven!

My biggest fear as a Detroit fan is that Dre will become another Darko due to lack of confidence/playing time.

There are less talented rookies on other teams getting much more PT (Harkless/Beal etc.) This guy could be the next Shaq if he is developed properly.

No he isn't - not yet at least. He's improved a lot, but he still makes a lot of questionable decisions and is bad on defense. He's way more confident though, which is great. Getting him more minutes is tough though considering he's one of 3 mediocre PGs, 2 of which are in their second year and are showing promise (Isaiah Thomas and Jimmer) and 1 of which who is playing better than the others as a starter (Brooks). It's hard to justify taking time away from anyone now that Brooks is starting and we're playing better since then.

Anyway, Valanciunas is looking better with the extra minutes, so they should keep that up.

I'd like to see my boy Tyreke get more playing time. Sure, he starts, but our stupid coach "Smart", likes to only play him around 30 min a night. That is ridiculous considering he is so young (22/23), and he has been our best player this year. He is EASILY our best 2 way player, and our best man defender. His shot has been coming around lately as well. He has been shooting around 52% this past week, with him shooting jumpers, yes JUMPERS from Tyreke Evans. So in short, tyreke needs 8-10 more minutes a game. Same goes for Big Cuz if he can shut his mouth, stay out of foul trouble, he should get 8-10 more minutes as well. These two have finally started working their two man game and it has been working very well. #FreeReke!

I meant more like: he's still very young, still physically developing, so it may be a good thing not to force him too much. He's basically a kid, and he needs to go out there, battle 7 footers.

Marshon Brooks!!

The guy averaged 13 ppg as a rookie in 29 mpg.

Though he was injured earlier, this year he has a bevy of DNPCD's and only averages 13 mpg. He is shooting 60% from the field and 66% from three!

This makes no sense to me at all. I think he is better than Watson and Stackhouse, and can be better than Joe Johnson on any given night.

Why the hate coach?!
