THey of course are free to tell the FO this or that player does not fit with wich i want to do, please try to trade him for this or that player.

But

1 Ignoring him on the offense.
2 Running to the media to bash the player.
3 Sitting him just to spite him.

In short, running him out of town:

Is that acceptable?

In fact, isnt that COMPLETELY AGAINST your OWN TEAM interests?

I mean, if im a rival team Gm i will ONLY offer them Lowball offers for the player, knowing they want him out of town .

If the player doesn't show the **** up, yes.

It isn't like Phil Jackson actually hit him to wake him up, oh wait.

It isn't like Kobe didnt call out management like he has everyone to ever call him out, only for him to fail him by not showing up, oh wait.

It isn't like he didn't play in a motion, 4 corners, and Princeton O under potato head, and as C with a bench and still not post up or assert himself, oh wait.

It isn't like he isn't hitting shots with no one with in 10 feet of him, doesn't post up with the second unit, is not defending, and hasn't been out played and worked by Jamison and Hill at his role, oh wait.

**** Pau

Dude.
Read the second part.
You want him traded.
When you are selling a second hadn car; do you put a giant ad on the window that says, " Dude the engine is almost done" but we want 30000 dollars for the car.

he didn't sit pau to spite him. jamison was having a better game and coach was trying to ride his hot streak; pau looked a little winded out there.

anyways- all of this is over-reaction until we see the team with Nash for a good amount of games. if pau can't cut it with nash- so be it. but until then all the pau out of town talk is a waste of energy, despite his advanced line (PER/TS%/WS ect).

If Nash is out to January which he could be, do you wait for Pau to get it? Nash won't magically use telepathy to make the ball go in to the hoop on those open *** 15-17 footers Pau takes

get off pau's dick. its embarrassing. no one is saying hes a ****** player, he's just a ****** player in his current role. Lakers have a bad bench and wont go deep in the playoffs with just their starting 5. only trading piece is pau, a good player that can net you a solid starter and 2 role players. Pau will be gone by the all star break

Haha, don't think you need to see his advanced stats line to recognize he's struggling out there. And remember, the advanced line (that you're talking about) is just a reflection of raw per game stats. There's no context behind it. Very rudimentary "advanced" stats.

Of course it's a great move sometimes. Yes you can hurt their value in the market but everyone scouts and knows what he still has or doesn't have. But by doing this the lakers fans (who at the start of the season right or wrong said he was great) have got their fans on their side and blame Pau rather than the lakers for hiring dantoni and not having the personnel to match his style.

you're saying pau should be given the benefit of the doubt because he's playing outside of his game for the sake of this offense, and this team?

Lol no way screw that. I really appreciate Pau's game. but when people were calling him "***** Pau" in the 2011 playoffs I Lol'd so hard. Him and Boozer both just went soft that year.

pau lost his inner 'dog' once LAL went back-to-back. he just never brought the same intensity to the game once he became incredibly successful. hitting 30 contributed.

i dont know what boozers excuse was. that he was a system player? who knows.

Pau got the softy rep after that again.
and
Bozzer got the:
Boozer was only good with pass first point guards argument.

This is pathetic. 'antoni is a moron. Pau has done so much for the Lakers and he has a couple of bad games in a new system and the coach that just came in is running to the media to throw him under the bus? 'antoni can go fawk himself.

Easier to blame Pau than to blame himself IMO

Coaches should be allowed when it's someone like Phil or Pop.

But D'Antoni just got to the Lakers, so no, I don't think he has the right to do that. Sooner or later, he's going to be the scapegoat. My odds are on sooner rather than later.

Every coach and GM in the league knows exactly what they're going to get from Gasol if they trade for him; he's been in the league long enough. Anything anyone says about his attitude or the way he plays, at this point, probably won't change his value as it would be based on his particular situation and not on how he's been his entire career.

What's with making threads that are trying to be annonymous? Just say "should D'Antoni be able to call out Gasol for not being able to sprint?"

Don't hide behind your manlove for Gasol.

I hope LA trades Pau, so he can return to his old self and prove them wrong. I always felt that Pau has gotten a bad rep in LA. With that said, i dont see LA moving him. He will be valuable to them come playoff time

because its a generic question, that applies for any coach , this is not the first time something like this is happening.

New thread: should a player be allowed to tell people that he's injured? It goes against team interests after all.

Anyway, this is a non-issue. He isn't being run out of town.

Mike's offensive is based on ball movement and being able to be an offensive threat (versatile players with BB IQ) more then pure speed and athleticism (what did Mike do with athletes like Nate, AR, Steph, Jordan Hill etc). Pau is a versatile offensive player and an excellent passer. He has the skill set to play for Dantoni. It was his effect on the team and Jamison's effect on the team that put him on the bench against Memphis.

What did Mike say about Pau other then i play the guys who i think give us the best chance to win that night? If he said nothing else, does that mean that Pau is bigger then the coach and should never sit in favor of another player regardless of situation?
