That's pretty cool. He didn't even put thoughts into his shots. Just seemed to come naturally.

My grandfather told me that he played against Wilt in The Cage, NYC in the 50s. Pretty cool

you know what makes me question the validity of this? the fact that when he put up the 4th shot some other d bag tossed up a shot at the same time. now, if that was really going down and some dude just drained 3 hook 3s with 5 1970 dollars on the line, d bag in the corner 9/10 times is going to hold that ball and watch with his mouth ajar

Well that was just a routine 1972 team practice/shoot-around according to the context of the documentary from where the clip comes from. Wilt had been in the league for 12+ seasons, I'm pretty sure his teammates (aside from John Trapp, who was new to the team) were all quite familiar with Wilt's antics and abilities so nothing probably surprised them at that point - that's the guy that scored 100 points in a game and averaged 50 for a season and owned the record book - what's a few hook shots? The look on Happy Hairston's face while Wilt was talking trash was like "oh boy here it goes" lol
