It's disappointing. The guy just had a tough break with injuries. Was looking forward to this guy making it back in the league and playing at a similar level.

he'll be back. if 6 didn't stop him, then 7 knee surgeries won't stop him from retiring again. i have faith in him.

I think was was more of an issue with timing. Honestly, the guy should have taken 2-3 years off doing that platelet enrichment therapy the entire duration instead of sitting out just 1 strike-shortened season. It was as if he was trying to rebuild a house before the concrete of the foundation was set.

The guy is clearly talented, now it's just a matter of timing and proper rehab. The league will still be there whenever he comes back, IF he decides to.

He has more heart than most stars in the league. Sad to say I think he's done.

Roy simply can't play anymore. He has no cartilage. I predicted before the season that he would retire by his 20th game this season and apparently I was being extremely generous. He simply can't come back. This happens to people all the time where after a while knees don't hurt as much and you think feel pretty good. So you think can go again, only soon as you start playing it hurts just as bad and simply can't play. Like someone with bipolar thinks doing so great so don't need meds anymore and so go off them and bam find yourself locked in psych ward. There is NO GOING BACK.

Feel bad for him! So sad to see such a talent go down on injuries like he has.

He has made $42 million in his career earnings. Surely he can live on that?

He's just stealing money if he comes back
