The two most hyped teams going into that year in the finals that never happened but if it did would Lebron won his first ring in 2011 or would the Lakers 3 peat giving Kobe his 6th? I was pulling for this match up then so who would`ve won if it had happened?

If that helps you sleep at night.

They were up 15 with 7min to go and got cocky. They choked.

Miami would have won.

2011 was the climax of exhaustion for that LAL core. Kobe was on his last legs (pre-German surgery), Gasol collapsed in the playoffs for the first time during his Laker tenure, Bynum was at the height of his own volatility, the bench was weak (look up Odoms playoff numbers before you mention his 6th man of the year award), and Phil could barley get off the bench. that team had nothing left in the tank to give.

2009? That should have been Lakers Cavs.

Its silly how delirious heat fans are about their team. You dont think Spo was out coached that series?

Miami in 4 or 5.

Lakers just didn't have it that year and couldn't compete with their athleticism.

Not really. Lebron was awful that series, totally chocked. jj barea was able to lock him down lol. Lebron plays like he did in the finals last year you think dallas would still win?

Carlisle is a better coach. But to say spo is the reason miami lost is ********.

Miami would've whooped our *** and Lebron would be a 2x champ right now.

I love the Lakers, but they were the choke artists last season. No reason why they shouldn't have finished off OKC. I'm sure the Heat would have won handily. If we're talking about the season when LA got swept by Dallas, then there's no way they would've gotten to the Finals let alone beat Miami. They ran out of steam that year.

is andrew 32 here yet? oh geez im glad he hasnt derailed the thread into a kobe vs wade etc..

anyways, i think the heat would've won. the lakers were out of gas that year. that would've been their 4th straight finals appearance and they just seemed really tired.

eh, miami would have probably won becuase dallas was shooting the **** out of the ball that whole post season, but lets not forget jj barea was locking down bron. steve blake could have probably done the same lol

Miami would have beaten that Laker team, sure they had size advantages but look how that turned out for nearly every team we played in the playoffs and Finals...teams with size are able to beat us once or twice, but in a 7 game series? you cannot beat us 4 times using just size as an advantage.

they would've beaten that laker team because that team was tired and had nothing left in the tank that year. it's not easy to be in 3 straight finals appearances, plus international games etc. and that would've been their fourth.

Lebron would have chocked in the finals regardless. If Kobe's knees could have held up even 20%, he would have still put up better numbers than Lebron did in the 4th quarter. I say the Lakers.

yes spo was outcoached, he even admitted he cost the heat a title by trying to play with a traditional pg/c when they sucked instead of using our better players versatility. i still can't believe how long it took him to bench bibby for chalmers. also playing joel anthony so much allowed dirk to take a vacation on defense while chandler guarded bosh. and he should of played james jones to help against the zone defense.

however, its not THE reason miami lost, lebron needed to play like himself (especially since we were at our weakest depth wise back then with miller and haslem being injured and not much else to speak of on the roster outside of the big 3 and chalmers) and he didn't. he played well below what was expected for sure and that is the main reason for the mavs winning. terry and marion both outplayed him for ****sakes lol.

to answer the thread question, miami would of won imo. it would be asking too much for the lakers to threepeat and miami was the better team.

If I was 7'1 with Lebron's athleticism, Ray Allens shot, Iggy's defense and Kyrie's handles would I be the best player in NBA history? And If I played for the HEAT in 2011 and the Lakers made the finals would we have won?

HEAT 4-0

I would have loved to see that... Lakers/Kobe fans would of had to shut up for a while.

Edit**

But seriously, if the powers to be also known as the script writers wanted Lbj to perform the same way as in the Dallas series, HEAT would have lose.

If They gave Lbj the OK to play up to his talents, then HEAT win in 5, and I would have had soooooooo much ammo for the Kobe loyalist, they would have had to end their account on PSD. ( Wade would have went off on Kobe... do to pick & role play of course )
