Just based off that Al Jefferson thread who are some players that would be awesome next to Duncan?

I would love to see him go full circle and mentor a young guy who'd take over the franchise reigns. I remember during the draft they were talking about how the Spurs really liked Drummond. That would have been sweet.

So who are some guys you think the Spurs could logically pick up to play next to Timmy at the deadline?

I think someone like Favors would benefit like crazy playing with Duncan for a few years.

a Gasol and Duncan duo in the hands of Pops could be devastating for the league.

Ditto for Love and Duncan, but love is not going anywhere.

J smith and Duncan could be interesting.

Al jeff and Duncan......i quite not see it working as good as the other options.

Pau Gasol. Ebony and Ivory down low. The ball movement would be insane on that team.

It's funny you mention that, in 2K12, the Spurs signed him as a FA and they had that pairing for a season in my Association mode

Would prefer a mobile athletic PF rather then another center who would have a hard time guarding the perimeter.

I'd rather a big center tbh. Duncan is a better mid range player now and his game would benefit from a guy like Jefferson/Bynum/Oden next to him

Agreed 100%. Duncan needs someone mobile alongside him at this point in his career, so all those guys would be a good fit. Love especially would pair perfectly with Duncan, though I imagine almost everyone would like to have Kevin Love in place of their starting power forward.

Joakim Noah would be the ultimate fit next to Duncan.

Maybe they can still pry Drummond away from Detroit... they aren't playing him much. give Blair and agree to take back Charlie-V's contract... not likely, but I think Detroit is straving to get rid of that Charlie-V contract.

Gortat might be a good pick. PHO might be willing to move him. Or Millsap for that matter. Or maybe even Bynum... who knows what Philly is going to do with him if he doesn't play all season.

Any decent rebounding/defensive big man.

Detroit would hang up the phone before SA could get the word "Drummond" out.

I would say Horford, but they are pretty much the same (mid range jump shot, Duncan with a better post up game though). Just think Horford is an ideal Spurs type guy.

I don't see Noah being able to carry a franchise post duncan though,

NOT Oden or Bynum. The Spurs would need someone who could actually play in more games than not.

Paul Millsap

I would also love to see him groom Cousins. Get his head straight. Still think Cousins has tons of untapped potential in him

Bynum. He looked up to Tim, and Pop is the foot in the *** approach he needs to extend his career plus he is great with monitoring minutes,

I don't think they need someone to pair with Duncan, I think they need someone to come in off the bench in place of Duncan. Not a replacement, just someone to make sure the Spurs don't get murdered on the boards when he isn't in the game.

I agree, I think Marc Gasol and Tim Duncan would be a great front court.

I don't get all the talk about Cousins 'getting his head straight'.

The guy is fine, he just has a bit of a fiery temperament - that's a personality trait, not an immaturity thing. It's not like he's Javale Mcgee or something.

People tend to make out like Cousins is mental or something.
