According to his first autobiography, he wrote, sang and recorded these songs while working on his show "Flippin with the Dipper" at Kansas and was shocked when they went big in ratings.

Wilt could do anything he wanted and excel at it.

Except making free throws.

This. He was incredibly talented in so many facets, different sports, etc.

Not to mention sexually ;)

Wasn't he a great volleyball player during off season too? I think I've read that once in the past but never really did the research.

So let me get this straight...

Wilt Chamberlain was a great basketball player, singer, track and field runner, volleyball player, acted in movies, and a legendary ladies man.

It's official: Wilt Chamberlain was the Chuck Norris of the NBA and the most interesting man in the world before the most interesting man in the world.

Played Point Guard for Harlem Globetrotters. Set track records at Kansas. Even designed his own car which I think is in the NBA hall of fame. Owned restaurants.

Scratch what I said before.

Wilt is Bruce Wayne off the court and Batman on the court.

My god, there was almost nothing this guy couldn't do.

Imagine Javale McGees physical attributes, hops, quickness and explosiveness, Shaqs strength (he was actually much stronger than Shaq, being able to bp 600 pounds), amazing defense, Bill Waltons passing and Kareems post skills and you pretty much have Wilt.

Wilt was just an amazing overall player.

A gifted and talented guy surrounded by others of the same. This may clear his success off court. It's not like he got no support at all.

Well it was made in the late 90's. That's a pretty generic looking supercar for the time.

But yeah, Wilt was just an absolute monster. Arnold said he used to pick him up and twirl him over his head for fun when they were filming Conan. Apparently he was the play toy for Wilt and Andre the Giant. ... And Arnold was the top bodybuilder in the world.

Benched 500 pounds, had a 7'8" wingspan, ran the 440 in 49 seconds, olympic level high jumper with a 45" vert and had crazy agility for his size. Definitely one of the top specimens in human history. He would absolutely destroy in the current NBA.

He makes Dwight Howard look like a toddler.

WTF at 2:30, you can see Wilt outsprinting the ENTIRE field coming from behind. This guy was the closest thing to a metahuman.

7'2 275, outrunning the guards. INSANE.

With all that athleticism in mind, here's how phenomenal he was as a physical specimen:

7-1.06" w/o shoes
7-8 wingspan
9-6 standing reach in Chuck Taylors (would be a 9-7 standing reach in modern shoes)
Hand spread (thumb to pinky) 11.5"
Hand length (wrist to tip of middle finger) 9.5"
Playing Weights:

1959 (rookie season): 258lbs
1962 (3rd season): 265lbs
1964 (5th preseason): 320lbs (overweight)
1964-65 (5th regular season): 292lbs (after losing the excess weight)
1965-66 (6th season) 275lbs hospital weigh in for serious illness (so he is underweight at this point at 275)
1967-68 (8th season) 285lbs
1969 (9th season) 300lbs - not overweight, it is visible upper body strength

That is the last accurate weight measurement cite-able through newspapers of that era from his playing career - I'd estimate he weighed 305-320lbs from 1971-1973

In 1984 (11 years after retirement) while filming Conan the Destroyer he weighed in at a lean 327lbs

So this guy was a legitimate freak of nature.

Just compare those to modern measurements of players who've gone through the draft:
