View Full Version : Dwight not excited about 'Antoni? Magic in mourning?

As I'm sure we all saw, Magic Johnson was not exactly impressed with the 'Antoni hire... not that Magic is always spot on about such things:

http://espn.go.com/los-angeles/nba/story/_/id/8633977/magic-johnson-critical-los-angeles-lakers-jim-buss-decision-hire-mike-dantoni

More important though is that Dwight does not seem evcited about the hiring according to Hoopsworld: http://www.hoopsworld.com/howard-not-enthused-with-dantoni-hire/

Dwight, who normally jumps on questions and is quite joviol, seemed quiet and reserved when fielding questions about 'Antoni.

Bleacher Report had claimed Dwight, who expressed he wanted Phil Jackson when playing in Orlando, wanted Jackson to return to the bench in LA:
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1403185-dwight-howard-reportedly-wants-phil-jackson-to-coach-lakers

Kobe though says 'Antoni is a genius: http://espn.go.com/los-angeles/nba/story/_/id/8629856/kobe-bryant-los-angeles-lakers-wanted-offensive-genius-mike-dantoni

Obviously at this point, Magic Johnson's opinion doesn't mean much. He's no longer part owner of the Lakers, and he's usually not the most spot-on with his analysis. But keeping Dwight happy is a top priority for the Lakers who hope to sign Dwight to an extension.

Thoughts?

This is old news, and Dwight is excited. He just isn't going to go all crazy after the firing of Mike Brown after he was blamed for the firing of Stan Van Gundy in Orlando.

Don't expect dumb crap to come out of Dwight's mouth this yr after last yr's PR disaster in Orlando.

I think Dwight's a tool so this doesn't surprise me.

after last year, I could care less what Dwight feels about anything. I lost all sorts of respect for him.

It would be easier to find out what Dwight does like. But that would require some sort of ****s to give about that man child

Magic mourning is completely insignificant.

Dwight not happy about a coach is completely insignificant.

Nothing here...

Complete speculation. There is really no story here. Dwight has been reserved in most of his interviews recently (before D'Antoni was hired). Understandable since the Laker have been playing like complete *****. Go watch his previous postgame and practice interviews. Nothing new.

I don't blame, more reasons why he might not resign with the lakers

I hope his back is better because that running style is not good for a herniated disc.

Not signing Phil might end up being a gigantic mistake down the road if it ends up costing them the Championship and the chance to resign D12.

And all the non-laker lovers are objective posters, right? Lmao.

Yes, Dwight is so unhappy about the D'antoni hiring. Digging much? Enjoy the speculation into meaningless words.

I don't think this is a big deal, but if I was a Laker fan I wouldn't downplay it. Howard obviously wants to be the man and probably won't be as a Laker. He thinks he is the GOAT, and he's not even the best player on his own team now. That would be a scary thought if I was a Laker fan.

Lakers hire D'Antoni

Dwight demands a trade to From Disneyland to Knott's Berry Farm.

Oh noez! :ohno:
