This is enough of a reason to veto the trade

I seem to remember the Red Sox crying about the Blue Jays acquiring Sergio Santos last year without anyone letting them know the White Sox were open to trading him, and then they rushed to get Andrew Bailey to try to keep up.

What does this have to do with anything?

The general sense of entitlement that the Red Sox seem to have. Even the Yankees conduct themselves with more dignity than the Red Sox and their fans.

Entitlement? You just said the Red Sox tried to keep up with the Jays on a move for a bullpen piece and Boston fans are the ones who feel entitled? Irony at it's finest.

I think you mean hypocrisy, not irony. However, it's wrong on both accounts.

True, but a little while after Bailey was put on the DL after hurting himself, Santos goes and "hurts" himself too. I think its the Blue Jays trying to keep pace with the Sox...such copy cats.

So the Red Sox dumped all those salaries just to take on another bad contract?

I remember the "Ellsbury for Reyes" rumors back when Jose was in New York. I thought they would make a big push for him last offseason.
