So giants are only going to have 2 outfielders next year? I think they will sign at least Pagan, maybe Swish as well

I meant Adam LaRoche - Texas Rangers - 3 years/$33 million.

The reason I have Young getting 6 years is because the Mariners are desperate for offense so they will go with 6 years in order to outbid other teams and they will look at Young as a DH, not an OF.

The Giants didn't even offer Pagan a qualifying offer
I don't predict trades because I don't know too much about every teams farm system, but I hear that the Giants are going hard after Justin Upton.

Are you a Dodger Slappy? Upton will go to Rangers, or Rays because they have the prospects, or pitching that Arizona covets. Snakes want a shortstop, and or starting pitching for Upton, and won't take anything less, or he would already be gone. Six years for Young is crazy, He will take a short- term deal since he is coming off a bad year and is still only 26.

What makes you predict these things? Have you read anything online, or have any sources that provide any insight on your predictions?

It is a combination of stuff that I read, team needs, team financial status and just my general baseball knowledge.

For example...I know that the Mets aren't going to offer Josh Hamilton $23-$25 million per year even though they need an outfielder with pop. So, I have them going after a Cody Ross type guy.

OK, Ok, OK...I to 3 years/$30 million and reach free agency again at 29-30 years old.

Ludwick isn't going to get $7 million per year over 3 years. In my opinion, he is too inconsistent. He had that monster year in St. Louis in 2008 and his numbers declined every year after that until this year. He is better off signing a one year deal to show consistency and negotiate a multi-year deal next off-season

Cody Ross will get more than the $13 million I predicted, but I don't believe he should get the $25 million he wants. I believe he should sign a 3 year deal for $18-$21 million and be happy with it.

to the OP: I'd much rather the braves sign Pagan then Upton who is the better player, not to mention the fact that his contract will likely be half the size of Upton's.

Why the hell would they do that? We dont need a DH. We need an outfielder. I can guarantee Delmon Young does not get more than 2 years, and it wont be from the Ms.

Plus, they wouldnt need to go 6 years to outbid. If everyone else offers two, they can offer 3. Not 6.

God i hope not. 25 a year for him is rediculous.

8. Melky Cabrera: Tampa Bay Rays 1 year 9 million

I can definitely see the Rays taking a chance on Cabrera. They've shown a willingness to take on reclamation projects with good upside and they have a lot of faith in the ability of the leadership of their clubhouse to self-police players who don't have the best reputation in that area. They're all about finding value in players that other teams may be hesitant to take on for one reason or another.

2. B.J Upton: Phillies, 4/65
3. Michael Bourn: Washington, 4/60
4. Adam Laroche: Cleveland, 3/36
5. Nick Swisher: Seattle, 4/60
6. AJ Pierzynski: Texas, 2/22
7. Mike Napoli: Boston, 3/33
8. Melky Cabrera: Miami, 1/7 million + incentives
9. Angel Pagan: San Francisco, 2/19
10. Cody Ross: Boston, 3/26

Lots of guesses, and probably fairly inaccurate, but who the hell knows how it will turn out.

I don't think Pagan will earn that much. I'd like to see him do well over a longer period of time to see if he's not just a "one year on, one year off" kind of guy. I'd say 6.5, 7 million per year.
