Keyon Martin has apparently said the Heat are at the top of his wish list, and that he will take the vet min.

I think it's a perfect match to be honest. Martin can play center and let Bosh play at his natural position.

Anybody heard and rumours about teams that are interested in Martin? I thought with his defense and rebounding that he'd get picked up before the season started... am I missing something here?

On a side note: anybody know why Miami hasn't been using Josh Harrellson? He posted some pretty good per-36-minutes stats last season, and this season so far. I'm very curious to see what this kid can do with some real minutes.

The report says at the end there that Miami is playing well. On what planet? :laugh2: Anyone who's seen the last two Heat games know how much K-Mart would help right now.

Good fit if he's going to play the 5. Rashard is doing a great job so far with spacing

Rashard is an awful defender, Kenyon is much better.

He's been a surprise offensively, but I'd rather him be a situational player if he's defense is going to continue to be piss poor. We enough spacing with James Jones, Miller, Allen, and Battier. Bosh and Haslem space the floor with their mid-range game as well. 'Shards offense doesn't make up for his horrible defense. I'd rather have K-Mart, who's physical, a very good post defender, and a very good rebounder. We could easily keep Bosh at the 5 and start K-Mart at the 4 if need be (if MIA signs him). It's an ideal fit.

his spacing doesnt make up for his complete lack of defense

No thanks. K-Marts personality would be bad for the team and he is washed up on the court. And even if we did get him, he would play over anybodys minutes, would just be another Pittman, Jones, or Harris.

He would def help if you call 2 points and 2 rebounds in 15 minutes helping

K-Mart is supposedly washed up on the court, yet was a key cog for the Clippers to get over the hump against arguably a better team in Memphis. Plus, his defense in the interior is much needed. Much more than Lewis' offense. Sorry, but this is a no brainer here.....

Wouldn't that to be expected considering Hill is a decade younger? Martin has clearly been the better player overall considering career. Martin is also clearly an upgrade defensively to Lewis, Harrellson, and Pittman, so I can't see how this is "Good news for the Lakers", only that this is a weak attempt to bait Heat fans.

Yes definite potential that kid, I was upset to see him go.

K martin was key on that Clippers/Grizzlies Series but then he was useless vs the Spurs so he is good back weapon to have.

Both of these statements are true, which lead me to believe that the Heat are the one team K-Mart makes sense for. He can still impact a game and if he's basically platooning with Lewis. I think that's an effective combo depending on the match up. I think his ego would be in check on the Heat. He has a chance to be a problem on just about any other team and that alone make his skills not worth it IMO.
