I mighta done this thread before, but oh well!! Pretty self-explanitory. Who is a player you had a strong opinion either way about that proved you wrong? Could be from any era.

Kyrie Irving. I was dead ****ing wrong. I thought he was going to be a bust, and now he's one of my favorite players in the league... I couldn't have been more wrong about him.

Same here. I was thinking D-Will was a better option. He has really impressed me.

Yeah I wanted Cleveland to draft D-Will as well... Good thing we aren't GM's I guess, haha.

last time i was wrong about a player was d wagner thought he would be great scorer. I usually have a knack for predicting nba player and what they will do i said jermey would avg 13 and 6 in the nba before he ever played for the knicks.

Kyrie Irving. I thought he would bust especially having only played a handful of games in college.

Lebron James for me.. He proved me wrong last season and now he's one of my favorite players to watch even though I'm a Lakers fan and he's in the Heat..

Anthony randolph.... I underrated just how incredibly dumb that young man is. His natural ability is incredible, but he has the dumbness to the point where you've never looked at him in the face and not said...

"damn that boy is stupid"

I thought Tyrus Thomas and Joe Alexander would evolve to be decent players.

Russel westbrook i though he would be a bust but he has changed my mind and now is one of my favorite players and is top 5 pg

Rajon Rondo. After the first couple seasons of watching him play I thought there was no way this guy would ever become what he is now.

I also thought Dion Waiters was going to be good and so far looks like I'm right :D

Stackhouse... his rookie year? like 20 points and 4 boards and 4 assists and over a steal and a block a game? I thought he was going to be AMAZING!!!!! I was like: All he needs to do is improve his FG% and cut back on the turnovers. I guess he couldn't pull that off. :-(

I was wrong about Kyrie and Love. I didn't think either players would be that good.

He was a real good player for a lot of years. Gifted scorer.

Jonas. When Raps took him last year was furious thought he'd be a big bust.

Tyrus Thomas I thought would be an elite player.

Irving for sure. I thought he was seriously overrated coming out of Duke considering how little floor time he got in college, but he was clearly the best rookie out of last year's draft class and he's already probably a top 10 PG.

I'm going to wait a little bit longer before I'm willing to admit I was wrong, but I also though Mayo was going to be a major disappointment in Dallas after he was so mediocre in Memphis. I thought he was a high volume, low efficiency scorer who was a 6th man at best on a playoff team. If he keeps this up, though, I'll admit I'm wrong.

And for the homer pick, Marcus Morris has really impressed me so far this season. I think myself and 99 percent of all Rockets fans were pretty much ready to call him a bust after last season, but he has been probably the third or fourth most consistent scoring option so far and his numbers per 36 minutes have been impressive. I really hope he keeps it up and can play a Thaddeus Young type offensive role off the bench for this team moving forward.

I couldn't stand watching Deron Williams when he was at Illinois... Every time I saw an Illini game he was a turnover machine... Thought he would be a complete bust in the NBA...

WOW... Maybe the college game was waaaay to slow for him... His speed may have always been NBA speed...

Beasley and Derrick Williams. THe #'s Beasely put up at Kansas State I thought he would dominate at the next level and lead the league in scoring. Williams was a one man show at Arizona but has sucked in the NBA

Kevin ****ing Love. Maybe its because my friend went to UCLA at the time and beat him off, but i thought he would be a huge bust. Always thought he would be a pretty good rebounder coming off the bench but get bullied by the bigs in the NBA, and wasn't too sold on his offensive game. Now i can't hear the end of it from him.

11-12-2012, 03:23 PM
Wes Johnson. I thought he'd be a decent NBA starter with a nice stroke and a decent drive game. It appears as though he wants to be a 3pt shooting role player who doesn't make 3pt shots.

I thought Derrick Rose was going to be a complete bust. I thought he was going to be a terrible shooter and that would limit his game. Proved me wrong haha.

Lebron. In his rookie year I expected him to be like 12pts, 4 and 4 or something with low efficiency.

After about 1 game I realized I was wrong.

Greg Oden.

I thought he was going to be better than Durant. I thought he was going to be the next legendary big man in the NBA.

He probably would have been, there's no knock against his talent. It's his health. At least with Oden you can always have that "What-If" factor as opposed to complete failures such as Beasley (didn't live up to the #2 expectation especially following up D-Rose) or Hasheem Thabeet

Currently, Waiters by far.... I've watched some Cavaliers game this years and dude is ballin like I never expected.

In the past Adam Morrison... Maybe it was the Bobcat Homer in me, Maybe because I was a fan when he was at Gonzaga, but I really did buy into the hype.

Good responses. I also thought Beasley was gonna be the man. He has been such a bummer up to this point.

One thing I also never figured was JJ Reddick having so much brighter of a career than Morrison.

I don't think it's just the injuries... he's too foul prone. He'd be a great rebounder and solid defender is he didnt commit so many fouls.

His offensive game though....
