With both set to become UFA's in 2014 do you think the Lakers would let Kobe walk sign LBJ?

Would the Lakers let what? A 36 year old chucker walk for possibly the GOAT?

I think we all know the answer.

Kobe's retiring in 2 yrs. So the Lakers can do whatever they want in the summer of 2014 without him getting in the way.

We all know how much loyalty Buss and Kupchuck have... Shaq who? Yeah, we'll trade him, it's not like he's done much for this franchise. You are the man Kobe........... LBJ? You want to play in LA? Oh, no, that Kobe guy isn't even on the pay roll now, don't worry about him. It's not like he's done much for the organization.

That said, I think at that point, Kobe may be will to take a pay cut to play for the team if it means LBJ coming.... after all, it will just mean more rings for him... and as long and LBJ and him are getting rings together, LBJ won't be getting more than kobe ;-)

I wouldn't be surprised.

Though I think Lebron will stay with the Heat and Kobe stays with the Lakers in 2014.

If Kobe decides he wants to play past his current contract and the Lakers are able to sign LBJ im sure he would resign for the vet min. Money will never be a problem for him, I know he has an ego but hell be 36 then and im sure even he knows that he cant be the man at that age. His desire to win trumps all his other qualities.

They would never let Kobe walk. He'd retire... That's the way this scenario would work

Miami isn't exactly going to gut the team and only keep Labron. They will still be able to put a very good team around Labron and Bosh. With the money they save (by not paying an aging Wade) they could fill out their roster very nicely!

So when you sit there and say that you don't generalize a fan because of the way an entire fanbase acts, we'll all get to call you the definition of the term hypocrite. Not to mention an *** too.

I'm gonna defend chac here because he's one of the few Laker fans on this site that doesn't have his head up Kobe's ***. And we need more Laker fans like that, not less. So please, take your ignorant posts somewhere else because you're only driving away the better Laker fans

Replace CP3 with Kyrie Irving and you pretty much hit it right on the money.

With Mitch and the Lakers FO, no one should immediately doubt this. :laugh2:

Cant believe we are going to be subject to this garbage for the next 2 years. :puke: Kobe will retire a laker and lebron is not coming, love and kyrie tho? now thats a real and better possibility.

They are clearly putting themsleves in a position to make a big splash in 2014. There books will be clear aside from Howard (assuming he signs the max deal with the Lakers) and Nash (will have one year left on deal). If they don't go after Lebron, they will go after someone significant.

Hard to imagine that happening since it seems like 80% of the LAL fanbase are "kobe fans".

That being said 80% of the LAL fanbase seemed to love Shaq and hate Kobe from 05-08 before he won in 09 which caused a total reversal of those percentages so anything seems possible.

So he could be sitting on the sidelines? I really hope that was sarcasm because im pretty sure anyone would take 23+ pts 10 rebs 2.5 blks and 51% shooting over 0 0 0 0 anyday.

Lebron James is NOT coming to LA. Get that out your head Lakers fans. I know you guys been used to having top 10 All-time players (Kareem, Magic, Shaq, Kobe), but not this time.

LBJ is not leaving miami

I remember Cleveland fans saying the same thing about him not leaving Cleveland. LBJ will go where he has the potential to win the most rings. That's the only reason he went to Miami. If miami fails to produce him more rings between now and then, he will move onto a better situation.

Probably not, but I wouldn't be surprised if he does. It's freaking LA and Mitch Kupchick, that alone makes the whole thing a big possibility.
