View Full Version : What Will The 2012 Olympics Translate Into For 2012-2013?

If you remember the 2008 Olympics, that led to an exciting 2008-2009 campaign, and it resulted in great individual yrs for those that were on the team.


Kobe Bryant-just coming off a 2008 League MVP and Finals Loss, he was able to get back to the Finals, winning his 4th Title (1st w/o Shaq) and his 1st Finals MVP.


LeBron James-became the best player in the league in 2008-2009, led the Cavs to the best overall record in the league for the first of 2 straight seasons, and won his 1st of his 3 League MVPs.




Carmelo Anthony-got out of the first round for the first time (and up to this point his only time) as his Nuggets were just 2 wins away from making the NBA Finals.



Dwight Howard-became a defensive beast and won the first of his 3 straight DPOY awards, and led the Magic to their first Finals appearance in 14 yrs.



Dwyane Wade-after an injury riddled 07-08 campaign, came back to take the league by force and led the league in scoring.



Chris Paul-built on his brilliant 07-08 campaign and became the unquestioned best PG in the league (fully surpassing Steve Nash).


Deron Williams-went to another level and probably became the #2 best PG in the league in 08-09 right behind CP3.



So do you think the 2012 Olympics will translate into great individual seasons and achievements for the guy who played on this past summer's team?

Melo looking good so far, much better on the defensive end. Just looks like he wants to win.

It might motivate a few players on a much smaller scale than the 2008 olympicsl. It was redemption that they got in 2008; They [just] repeated in 2012 (it was no real shock or test for Team USA).
