Memphis In: Jeremy Tyler, Charles Jenkins, Part of TE created from Ekpe Udoh trade (from GSW) and part of the TE created by the Gerald Wallace trade (from BKN) and a future first round pick from GSW.

Memphis Out: Tony Allen

Brooklyn Out: MarShon Brooks and a TE
Brooklyn In: Tony Allen

Golden State Out: Charles Jenkins, Jeremy Tyler, future 1st round pick
Golden State In: MarShon Brooks

With Brandon Rush out for the foreseeable future, the Warriors acquire a rising sixth man in MarShon Brooks to add to their young core. Memphis shaves money off their cap by acquiring players on rookie scale contracts and trade exceptions, and the Nets acquire a player who is a gritty defender and fits better into their rotation than Brooks.

TPEs don't move. You create them when you send out more money than you're bringing in, and use them by bringing in contracts that fit entirely inside the TPEs you have. You can't trade them.

In this case, GSW are sending out more salary than they're taking in, so they wouldn't use any of the Udoh TPE.
Brooklyn don't use any of theirs, either. According to the ESPN trade machine they have a $1.4m TPE from moving Okur, and a $1.4m from moving Shawne Williams. The only way to use either is to acquire a player that earns less than $1.4m - you can't combine them to acquire a $2.8m guy, or combine them with outgoing salary or anything like that. Allen earns $3.3m, so there's no way to use those TPE's on him.

In short, that means Brooklyn can't do this deal. As a taxpaying team they can take back 125% of the salary they send out + $100k. Sending out Brooks at $1.2m means they could take back about $1.6m. Allen makes $3.3m, so they can't do it.

But most importantly - as TrueFan said I doubt GSW are giving up a first rounder for Brooks, and I don't think Memphis are moving Allen for the rest of the package.

Memphis would never dump a great defender like Allen for nothing.
