View Full Version : Should the Knicks/Heat game be postphoned?

Wade thinks so, and Lebron partially agreed. Their decision is based on many Nykers still struggling to get electricity or basic stuff in the aftermath of Sandy...it took the Heat team 3 hours just to get to their hotel for a trip that normally takes 30 minutes.

Your thoughts?

wade knows wassup, we get a fair share of hurricanes here.. lebron i feel was just being politically correct.

either way, it wouldnt affect me if they played or not, i just hope the victims are safe and sound.

Classy words by the Heat leaders Bron and Wade. I think playing basketball for the crowd brings levity to the situation.

I mean, remember after Hurricane Katrina when a bunch of NBA players decided to play a game during the Summer of 2005? Guys like TMac and Kobe played in that game and it was great for the league and for the cause.

I think if the Heat players and the rest of the NBA can help in this matter, that would be pretty awesome.

Well they're playing anyway so it's pointless to determine whether it should be or not. But I will say that I can see both sides of the story. On one hand, there's a respect factor that people feel needs to be taken into consideration, but on the other hand, basketball is a great way to take your mind off the devastation that transpired and bring a city together.

Wade doesn't want the game to be played because the script was revised

We can't even get gas in our cars. No power in multiple places for 7 to 10 days at least . And I'll be pissed to watch my squad get beat down short handed first game of the season after all of this ....

Yes in terms of players because Amare's garage is underwater and other players are being heavily effected like for example, Deron has no power at all still in his apartment in Manhattan. But, basketball will be the only thing to bring joy to those effected.

The turnout will be embarrassing. Nobody has gas and public transportation is extremely limited. I hope 3000 people show up to prove they should have held off.

I guarantee it's a sell out and it'll be filled to the max 30 min before tip off

I agree with you. If your a person who has tickets and your house was damaged that is one thing. You have to take care of more important things. If your a person with no power like I didn't have for a couple days you just can't wait to get out of the house.

I bet people will be getting there early and it breaks up the day instead of sitting on your hands waiting for electric to come back in your cold apartment.

From the pics my cousins who lives in NY has been sending me I absolutely agree with Wade on this. I LOVE me some basketball but immediately for those affected by Sandy there are things which are more important.

I honestly just hope everyone who wants to watch the game can find a place to do it. And I really want the Knicks to pull out the win so people in NY have something to cheer about, even if it is just a basketball game.

Uptown is going to be ridiculously crowded tonight. It has been all week. Everyone from downtown that doesnt have power is going to come up here to watch the game. I dont think there will be one bar up here that isnt filled to capacity.

It's great to have this distraction and forget about all the suffering and the seriousness of the situation. GO KNICKS! :)
