Im not talking about their overall Lakers career, just their partnership together.

They are kind of similar situations, whats the probability of these guys outdoing those 2 during their time together.

50-50, 70-30?

Hmmm. Considering where they were/are in their careers it is possible.

No. I don't think it's possible. That said, I think on offense, West was more paired up with Baylor, then later Goodrich. Wilt, on the Lakers, was always an afterthought on offense, or at least so it seemed. Looking at his stats with LAL, it seems like all they wanted him to do was rebound and play defence, though I think most people would agree that had he been a focal point of the offense he would have been scoring as much as West, Goodrich or BBaylor.

It's hard to measure the success of a duo, but if we're talking team success, Wilt and West went to four NBA Finals together, but won only one ring. I think Kobe and Dwight will go to at least one NBA Finals together, assuming Dwight re-signs to a long term deal and Kobe stays healthy for another 3-4 seasons. But I do not think they will win a title together.

So, in that regard, I don't think they will be as successful. It's worth noting that Wilt was at the tail end of his career and nowhere near his prime when they won that title in 71-72. But I think going to the finals in four out of their five seasons together is pretty damn successful, and I don't see the Lakers having that kind of success with the Thunder's duo improving each season and a stacked Western Conference.

if prime kobe and prime Shaq couldn't do it then why would decline kobe and prime Dwight do it?

Wat? They smashed on that duo, Prime Shaq and Kobe are probably the best duo in History.
