Due to the unfortunate aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, this is the only game tonight. But this will be a damn good one nonetheless. I got the Spurs here by a hair though, simply because they're at home.

Have a feeling the thunder will lose...

Very good game tho for them to gauge exactly where they are and what to improve on.

Hoping Manu suits up for this one. It sucks the guys had to burn so much energy last night but maybe it'll get them warmed up for tonight. Can't wait...

Yea, it's pretty awful some of the damage here smh.

But mass transit will be in better shape for people to get to the game, a lot of the flooding has been pumped out from the tunnels, etc.. I'd be shocked if they don't play.

I think Spurs will fall down a bit maybe 5th or 6th seed

OKC vs Clippers or OKC vs Lakers would have been better

At least OKC is a top seed.

Thunder at great odds. I jumped all over that.

I'd say it's pretty risky, Spurs first home game, like I mentioned earlier they're 14-1 in home openers with Pop/TD plus a little extra motivation. Not saying OKC can't win, but I don't see how the odds are great. Just my opinion though :)

With Manu out I just had to throw some money on OKC. Plus the Spurs are on a back to back and looked far from impressive last night. We'll have to wait and see I guess.

I think it was just rust being the first game, it might benefit them tonight. They were cold from 3 and could've gotten that funk out of the way.

Manu out hurts, but they've won vs OKC without Manu and with Harden. It will be interesting, I'm hoping last night was a warmup vs a sign of things to come

I am one of those guys that always doubts the Spurs getting there citing age etc. and then realize how wrong i was later so i am not going to doubt them this year.

I feel they can do it. They will have issues beating the Thunder though.

No doubt. Harden was a very big reason they won, and Perkins/Ibaka shooting percentages they've never shot before :(

I think there is an opportunity at the very least

Also another reason why getting the 1 seed is so important so OKC can get LA or the Clips again this year

As bad as Westbrook was I didn't think Durant played all that well. His numbers look good but he is such a gifted player his numbers are going to be there. He wasn't agressive enough and is too easily denied the basketball. There are possesions where Westbrook is waiting for him to get himself off the screen or off the deny and he is unable to do so leaving Westbrook with 7 seconds on the shot clock.

Spurs played great! Great game to watch. Although Westy kind of controlled the ball a bit too much. I think the last 5 possessions were all him with the ball, he went 1/4 during, with the only pass being a turnover at the end. Spurs look like the team to beat in the West imo.

The Thunder will be just as good without Harden like I said. Martin passed to Collison, got others involved. Still was efficient without having to ISO.

But Westbrook's tunnel vision is too awful. There was a play where he got THREE defenders on him and he took a forced shot instead of passing to Martin wide open on the right wing.

Next play down, he forgets the play and Durant ends up getting the ball with Lenard all over him which turns into a turnover.

Then, to top it off. He somehow forgets Tony Parker on defense.

And people have the nerve to put him Top 5? He's not better than Paul, Deron, Rose, Rondo whatsoever. His IQ is lacking, his defensive focus is lacking.

People need to quit with the stats because the Thunder would be 1-0 if he didn't make a mental mistake.

^Very impressive victory to say the least. Alot of good things to take away from both teams. I think if the Spurs defense can keep up that level of agression on defense heading into postseason play, they can represent the west. What I think dissipated last year in the WCF for the Spurs was the defensive tenacity, which to me was a result of buying into OKC's playing style.

I'm excited for the Spurs this year. We dominated the last 40 games or whatever until Thunder ended up winning their 4 in a row. Now we actually get a training camp and get Diaw and Jackson and Patty up to speed and chemistry with the team compared to on the fly last year. Very excited

Definitely agree here, we could not get stops when we needed to save our lives. It was so frustrating to watch at times. It's a very small sample size, but Pop said this was the most productive camp he's ever had, and said the emphasis would be on defense.

I also think maybe he got some input from Jerry Sloan who visited the camp/scrimmage to get another perspective on what they could do differently. Green and Leonard were very good defensively, (Leonard has 10 steals already in 2 games) and Diaw is deceptively quick guarding the 4 spot.

The problem is still there when TD goes to the bench however, but like yesterday the bench played well enough and scored enough to keep the game even, without Manu. Jack played well, Neal, etc... I will be thrilled to keep the defense going at a consistent rate. That will be a very big difference. They don't seem to be relying on the 3 as much early on either and going to TD more in the post which I think is great
