There were only three games so there weren't many lines to choose from.

In Miami Rondo continued his streak of double-digit assist nights by scoring 20 and handing out 13 assists, while Ray Allen lit up his former team for 19 points off the bench (if Allen keeps this up he will be a sure thing for the 6th man of the year award). James threw in a double-double with 26 points and 10 boards.

In LA, Pao Gasol was the only one to put up impressive number as he recorded a double-double with 23 points and 13 rebounds.

Mine line of the night though goes to Anderson-V, who pulled down 23 rebounds; 12 offensive and 11 and despite having a chance at 12 put backs only ended up with 9 points? Which, surprisingly, is as many assists as he got. I missed the game, but I'm guessing he must have kicked all those offesnvie rebounds out to shooters a la Dennis Rodman to rack up all those assists. It's a good thing Irving picked up the slack by scoring 29 points!

Who do you think gets line of the night?

Varajeo also had 9 assists which was the most surprising from his performance.

looking at Anderson Varejaos stats again, they are a little troubling...how do you only score 9 pts when you get 12 offensive rebounds?

I went with Gasol. Double double to go along with six assists and three blocks, that's nice.

I thought what Barbosa did was pretty incredible during that stretch. 16 points, all in the 4th quarter, off the bench. Damn.

varejao 9-23-9-3 and some fine-deserving flops ;)

If Big-V had gotten one more assist and one more point, would that have counted as a quadrouple double since he had double-digits in offensive and defensive rebounds? ;-)

Look a little closer. 9 points sure but also 9 assists. Without the assists I would agree with you. Plus Varejao has never been known as an offensive force. Which tells me he is smart enough to recognize the best move is kicking the ball out to someone with better offensive skills.

Well as we know, the first game basically tells us what to expect from the players this season. So expect the following:

Varajao will be a 10-20-10 player
Kobe will shoot 70% this season
Dwight Howard will shoot about 20% from the free throw line
Rondo will Flagrant Foul more than anyone this season
Lebron will have cramps hold him out of many games
Gasol is easily the best player on the Lakers (right, Hellcrooner :D)
The Miami Heat, Cleveland Cavailiers and Dallas Mavericks will be at the top of thier conferences
The LA Lakers will continue to lose, until the fire Mike Brown.

AV with the best numbers by far on day 1 of the season.
