View Full Version : Who will be the best SG in the league? (Behind Kobe and Wade)

Obviously Kobe Bryant and Dwayne Wade are the best shooting guards in the league today. Some would argue Wade's first, others that Kobe is still the best. But my question is, who is will be the best SG guard after those two?

Will Harden rise to the occasion and prove he's worth the max contract he wants? Will Eric Gordon prove he's worht the max contract he got? Will Monta Ellis flourish playing alongside Brandon Jennings? Will Joe Johnson make the Nets contenders? Will Marcus Thornton give Sac-town fans a reason to get excited? Or Tyreke Evans? Will Klay Thompson help GSW fans get over Monta Ellis's trade to the Bucks? Will Kevin Martin get back to playing like an All-Star now the defences will be to busy trying to slow down Durant and Westbrook? Who do you think is going to end up being the third best SG in the league next season?

it's between harden, iggy,jj,gordon and manu who've forgotten in your poll and might be my pick right now

I think Joe Johnson then Monta Ellis before James Harden.

Harden was clearly the third best SG last season and that was as the No. 3 player in OKC. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that I think he's not only already the No. 3 SG, but that I think he's going to start challenging Kobe for the No. 2 spot by the end of this season. In a year or two, he might be the No. 1 SG.

If Healthy I think its Gordan.

Gordon even though I don't really care for him too much. That being said there is a massive drop off between kobe/wade and the 3rd SG. None of them are really game changers imo. They are all good complimentary players.

Dude! What is your problem with me? lol Do you hate me that much? You should make a poll: Should JasonJohnHorn stop making threads. If you do, and it actually stays open and you get more than 50% of people to vote yes, I will stop making threads for one month!

Please note... you are the only person who is complaining.

Harden or Gordon. Both have a lot to prove this season; Harden being traded and becoming a starter (and franchise player one would assume), and Gordon coming back from injury.

That being said, I predict Wade’s numbers to drop off big time over the next 2 seasons. If Kobe can stay healthy he’ll thrive off easy looks thanks to Nash.

But you make my case stronger when you yourself say "Well yea, I got that idea from the other thread".

It's kinda cute how you two are defending each other.

That's absurd, I don't even know you personally.

I don't hate any human being. Hell, you might be a chill person up front. Just annoying behind the keyboard, as I can be as well.

After reading your post however, I see that I tend to overreact a lot.

I don't want you to get this wrong impression that I hate you or anyone here as I don't know anyone here personally.

I apologize.

Yes but whats your point here? I also weaken it when I say your delusional, what matters is that your mindset is the same regardless of the outcome.

I think Manu falls to #4 this season, behind Harden. Within a couple of seasons, Harden, if he gets better defensively, may very well be the games best SG.

I still want to see him in a lead role before I make my ultimate judgment however.

Kobe is hurt?
Says who?

Kobe is at 100% right now.
He actually had a very good game imo other then the lack of assists.

Wade was better though.

Fair enough but keep in mind Wade is also coming off from (and still recovering from) a fresh off-season knee surgery.

It's still one game. You can't base an argument off of that, especially when Wade's track record shows that he won't even play a whole season.

Chronz
10-31-2012, 05:21 AM
Did Wade play better? He didn't look that good, tho I imagine facing Boston even now is still a better defensive unit. Ray was probably the best SG tonight tho

Great contribution to tread

edit: don't think we missed that you purposely didn't write the stats Kobe is better at.
Like;
Kobe %786 fg
wade %455 fg.

You are a person who always knocks Kobe's efficiency, but this time it didn't fit your agenda.

Surprised not much love going to Ginobili to be honest who i still believe is a better player than Harden. Gordon has no business getting votes with the amount of games he's missed.
