Quentin Richardson, who the Magic owe more than $5 million over next 2 years, was cut today.

Josh Robbins:
#Magic will pay the remaining $5.4 million on Quentin Richardson's contract unless he's claimed off waivers.

A team looking for a 3pt shooter should really get on signing this guy.

Should have gotten the Lakers to take him back in the Dwight trade.

I was never that impressed with him, but I'm sure he'll land a job somewhere in the NBA.

With Carmelo set to play the 4 for an undetermined amount of time, I'd like to see the Knicks take a look.

How so?? He's an excellent character guy and locker room presence. I've never heard one word uttered about his effort or professionalism.

No one is going to claim him off waivers but a team may sign him afterwards. If the spurs didnt have stephen jackson I wouldn't have been surprised if they picked him up. Maybe the Jazz to replace Josh Howard?

Based off of what? He plays hard when he is out there and has provided a great attitude for the Magic while he was here. Very vocal player as well.

Was always a marginal player at best. A team like Celtics or Nets could use him

I could see him being picked up by the Lakers, I would't mind adding him to the Nets bench either.

No, the Lakers can't pick him up via the waiver wire. They have to wait for him to clear waivers and then they can sign him for the minimum. But I doubt the Lakers are interested in him.

Thats what a meant, no team is going to claim him from waivers, however I could see him also being a mid season signing.

Ah okay.

Yeah, I would like Q, but I think bigger concern is Lakers backup PG position. With Delonte possibly getting cut by the Mavs tomorrow, I hope he clears waivers and the Lakers can go after him hard since BLake and Duhon just won't cut it for us.
