The difference between him and Bynum is night and day. He actually challenges shots without fouling, hustles every play, and finishes anytime the ball is thrown near the rim. If only he made his free throws...I guess you cant have everything :p

Demarcus Cousins is so bad it's like he doesn't even want to be in the game.

I can't blame him. He's having to carry too much of a load battling Dwight and having Gasol go right around him. I feel for the guy.

They have two bodies boxing out Dwight every time the ball goes up. Gasol has a ridiculous amount of freedom. I don't think I've ever seen a player as wide open as Pau has been this game.

Lakers are going to go through the same growing pains that the Heat had when they first formed their group of stars. For the Lakers, Howard and Kobe are going to get their points, but there has to be scoring from the bench. They will win many games without a bench, but idk how it would fare in the playoffs against a deep team

Not worried about the turnovers, just players learning the system.

So far the only bad thing I'm seeing at the moment is Mike Brown is still the dumbest person in the NBA. If the Lakers lose this year, it will be because of this potato head. His rotations are the worst I have ever seen in my 22 years of living.

You have to give the Kings a little credit.... I get that the Lakers don't have much chemistry right now but there wasn't much worse teams chemistry wise than the Kings last year... and our roster still doesn't really know their roles. Were pretty stoked that the Kings played pre season minutes while the Lakers played regular season rotations and we still beat them.

The kings have a lot of potential. First order of business for them is to get tyreke to play consistent ball again. He can be so good if e puts it all together. Cousins can also be a beast but he seems to have Bynum syndrome. He can't continue to take plays off.

As for the lakers, they showed flashes of brilliance in the 2nd quarter... Clearly they remembered it was a pre season game in the 3rd and dropped their intensity level. They have a lot of work to do though. Dwight looked solid and healthy which is good.

The Kings look much improved compared to last season. Demarcus remains committed on D, Thornton looks amazing, and you guys made a great pickup in Aaron Brooks. The only problem I see with the team is Tyreke Evans. I just don't see how he fits now that you guys are loaded at the guard positions. Keeping him seems to ruin the team chemistry so I really think the FO should look to move him this season.

Yeah, Brown just played the starters quite a bit because they needed to gain chemistry. Holy smokes, offensively right now, it looks redonk. The 2nd unit/bench, Brown hasn't even been playing the regular rotation. He's trying out CDR, Somogyi, and some of the rooks, because we have to cut like 3-4 guys I think.

Backups should be okay:

Blake
Meeks
Ebanks
Jamison/Earl Clark
Hill/Sacre

Jordan Hill will likely be back for the opener, and Clark shouldn't be far away (although he probably won't play much at all either).

Another thing to consider is that at least one of Pau, Kobe, Dwight and Nash will likely be out there at all times. Should be fun!

Also.. I like what Sacramento is doing. If Rubio and Love miss a substantial amount of time, I think Sacramento can make the playoffs. Very deep team with solid bigs and good shooters. Extremely athletic.

Yeah, but again, Brown seemed like he was trying to get the starters to play together as much as possible. We have to consider that probably 2 of Pau, Dwight, Kobe, Nash (or at least 1 at the very least) will be out there at all times. Kind like what Miami does with D-Wade, Bosh, and LBJ.

Trust me, you guys will be no cakewalk. The one team in the league that wants to kill Miami the most at the moment is none other than the Boston Celtics.

With fair officiating, you guys should be very competitive and might be able to beat them.

I also think the NBA secretly wants the Lakers to have the best players for marketing and control reasons (and please don't bring up the Chris Paul trade).

The lakers weren't terrible, the kings were just that damn good. They played great defense and let's face it, DeMarcus cousins is clutch as hell. The last 2 minutes he made 2 GREAT ISO PLAYS against dwight and gasol.
The kings are on their path to glory this season. We made a mark on the whole league the other night and no other team was able to beat the lakers with howard yet and they probably won't lose again in the preseason with howard, you know why? That's because of our great defensive bigs. Chuck hayes was phenomenal, Cuz' perimeter D was marvelous and JT did what he had to do, Trob mozgoved dwight. We have the most talented bigs and guards and the most depth too. Aaron brooks is looking like a top 10pg, (100% fg shooting the other night to get 16 points in like 18 minutes) jimmer is playing insane, IT is like a early young steve nash so we can make a lot of moves to acquire go after top FA's. Nothing to take away from the Kings though. They showed everyone that the Lakers are beatable which i think is great for everyone involved. Less pressure for the Lakers (although by not much knowing us Lakers fans) and more confidence for other teams.

Its the preseason so I don't put any stock in wins and losses. However, the Kings' bench was a huge factor in yesterday's game. Aaron Brooks came off of the bench and in 18 mins, he scored 16 pts. Marcus Thornton came off the bench and played 26 mins and scored 15 pts. Those 2 players alone outscored the lakers' bench by 13 pts.... The Kings' bench was impressive yesterday.

Absolutely. It's scary to see what this team can do when they're fully clicking offensively. Howard probably could've had 6-8 more points if it weren't for the timing of some lobs.

What's really fun to watch is how easy shots are coming to him. So many uncontested dunks off of lobs from Nash, Kobe and Pau. It'll be fun to watch.

Bingo. Brown was trying to get chemistry with the starters. He wanted the "entire group" to play together as much as possible. That is NOT going to be the rotations come regular season. This is not the type of team where you play all starters and all bench separately. I'm sure Mike Brown is well aware of that. Pretty sure anyway...:D

In my opinion, the rest of the league allows the Lakers to be a powerhouse every year. This boosts ratings and makes the league more interesting. Without the Lakers (and even the Celtics), the league suffers. Therefore, they allow the Lakers to prosper by trading them players without receiving the proper value in return. They don't have to win the title every year, they just have to be a challenger every year.

The Lakers obviously play along, because it benefits them so much. So, I just see them as a money making machine for the NBA and the corporate world as a whole. It's interesting, but it's gettin' a little old and predictable.

I love basketball for different reasons now. Not to support a team, but to watch individual players grow and develop.

Did you see the Nets offer? The Magic got the better offer. They will be bad for one year, get a top pick and have a legit number two in viv. Lakers have also missed the playoffs in recent history and the dominant team in the last fifteen years has been the Spurs.

If the league wants the Lakers, why have the Spurs been better?

Just like the Heat have Erik Spoelstra; with high-IQ guys like Lebron-Wade on the team, the offense/defense figures itself out.

Despite Mike Brown as the coach; with high-IQ guys like Kobe-Nash-Pau playing with arguably the most impactful player in the league, it's hard to imagine their troubles will last year-long.

Sadly I can't really argue with the point you are making about Mike Brown, though I still feel we would be favorites against OKC. I have wanted to pull my hair out all pre-season long watching him coach. It's the same feeling I had all last season. Our bench is **** too. We need another solid addition to our bench for sure. Anyways, if we do loose to OKC in the WCF....Mike Browns *** is grass.

Westbrook is always an x-factor. He was even in 2010 until Kobe took that defensive assignment from Fish. Obviously Nash can't guard him, but with the addition of Dwight, it should make things more difficult for him in terms of free reign of going to the hole. Should be interesting to say the least.
